Chapter 7 - Prologue: A Ghost or An Angel?

I am at the shore, annoyed and frustrated. As Ryan interrupted me from approaching the girl I had a conversation a while ago.

He thought I was imagining or still hangover but I am not. I am aware and in good condition though, my head still hurts from last night's party but that doesn't mean I am hallucinating.

That's the reason I am in a bad mood today, thanks to this dramatic Ryan.

He even made fun of me rather than understanding the scenario.

"Huh!? I can't follow you men, your mouth smells like a rotten egg" he jokingly replied.

I clenched my fist, ready to punch him and shot him a furious glance, my eyebrows knitted together.

"Hmmm?" Ryan's eyes narrowed with curiosity, "Men, are you good? Are you still drunk?" he jokingly asked.

I turned to face him, my expression became intense. I removed his hand-off from my shoulder and my voice is rising in annoyance.

"Could you think first before you act, Ryan?" I shouted, my anger is boiling over.

Ryan's expression turned puzzled, "Huh?" and he took a single step back.

"M-Men, what are you talking about? Chill, Okay" he asked me, clearly confused about what I meant, but I didn't care if he was curious or not. What I want for him is to read the atmosphere before interrupting.

I glared at him, very serious.

"Shut up, Ryan! Can you read the room? I am approaching someone and you. Interrupted me!" I shouted at him, my voice was loud and angry.

Ryan's confusion grew wider, "Huh!?, Men, you're still drunk? If you think you're cute well, you're not" jokingly said.

*Tssk*

My anger grew even stronger, gritting my teeth.

Ryan continued, his tone laced with amusement, "Men. I don't know what's going on, but your mouth smells like a rotten egg. You are hallucinating too, go first in the bathroom and make yourself calm."

His joke only fueled my anger. My anger was stronger and fiercer, directed at him for interrupting me and not taking me seriously.

"Calm?" I gave him a mirthless smile.

I continue. "I am calm before you arrive. You're not even listening, if this is a joke to you then it's not for me." I accused, my voice shaking with rage.

Ryan's suddenly faltered, and he took another step back. "M-men, calm down, okay." He made a gesture of calming me, holding up his hands like a"Stop" motion.

*Sigh* "Okay, I'mma stop joking now. You seem not fooling around anyway. So, What's going on?" he asked, his tone is more serious now.

"Tssk, just leave me alone, Ryan," I growled, turning away from him.

As I took some steps to his back, Ryan grabbed my shoulder.

"Men. You're clearly upset about something. Tell me" he asked, his voice firm but concerned.

He stopped me for a few seconds but I didn't turn my head to him. I just threw his hands off me.

"I was trying to catch up to her, and you butt in!" I said in a low voice, calming myself.

However, Ryan didn't hear it and asked. "What?"

I only remained silent and continued to walk away.

"Okay, okay. I get it. Sorry, Men. Maybe you should calm down and talk to me, no, to us about what's really going on" he shouted, though his tone was calming and soothing, I still chose to ignore him.

I walked away, annoyed.

*Sigh* "What in the world is he talking about? A girl? I didn't see anyone else except him." Ryan stood still thinking about the sudden rupture.

"Yo! Ryan!"

"Alex! How are you"

"What's wrong with him?" Asking Ryan while pointing to Gilbert.

"Yeah. About that. Actually, he was talking in the air and told me that he was talking to someone, I do not know who is that someone or maybe he is hallucinating. My god..."

"Stop!" Alex interrupted him, scratching the back of his head.

"Okay. I understand. Actually, it's true."

"Huh!? You see him talking to someone? Who? When? Where? Why? How?"

"Really? All W-H Questions?" Alex said with a puzzled face.

*Sigh* "You sure never changed, Ryan."

"What does that even mean? Well, you gonna tell me or not?" Ryan's tone was serious.

"Yeah, yeah. I saw them both. I just got outside when I saw Gilbert running fast..."

"And?" Ryan pressed, his impatience growing.

"What and?" Alex jokingly asked.

"Continue your story. Alex, you sure still an idiot" Ryan snapped.

"Wow, giving me back what I said" Alex said sarcastically

"Okay, so you saw him running on a girl then he talked to her? Like that? Are you sure you are not also hangover? Are you sure that's a human or a ghost? Wooooo, creepy. It gives me chills" he said, hugging himself like he was cold.

*Heavy sigh* "You sure talk a lot. She is not a ghost. Okay, I saw her in my two eyes."

"Okay, so she was not a ghost?" Ryan asked again.

"What did I just say?"

"Hmmm. So both of you are still hangover." Ryan casually said.

*Sigh* "Ryan, Ryan, Ryan. Let me ask you a question. When you met Shiela, did you think she was a ghost?" Alex asked.

But Ryan got annoyed after Alex made Shiela — Ryan's Girlfriend — as an example.

"Huh!? Of course not. What are talking about? Are you insulting her?"

"Huh!? Of course, not. I only made yourself as an example to Gilbert. Gilbert saw that girl as an angel as much as you did!"

"So you mean. He copied my moves, like that? Haha, I fully understand now" Ryan implied.

"Huh!?" Alex's mouth opened wide in a questioning face.

"I didn't know how he was able to copy my moves without even witnessing it"

Alex's expression seems confused and he scratched the back of his hair.

"Well, just go and say sorry or raise your arms to help him. I gonna go now, I will refresh myself". Alex said, walking away to Ryan while waving his hands.

"Hohoho. You can count on me, Alex. Gilbert is also a pretty guy like me, so it will be an easy task. I'm sure that girl sure be inlove with Gilbert in no time if I teach him the way of a sexy romantic courtship." Ryan proudly replied, dancing on the shore.

*Sigh*

As Alex got far away.

Ryan still stayed on the shore. He is dancing or posing or practicing at the sea waves and murmuring. Yeah, he is clearly practicing.

"Gilbert, prepare yourself as I will teach you the Gentlemen's Technique In Courtship" After he said that, he smiled and brushed his hair smoothly in the air and laughed.

Ryan really looked like a stupid and had a childish personality.

For his friends, it is a normal trait of him but that was before when they were classmates in Junior High School.

Is personality that hard to change? For me, I don't know.
