Chapter 37 - Chapter 38: Buying a Luxury Estate

[Chapter 38: Buying a Luxury Estate]

When Linton arrived, he listened to Mira talk about the relevant details in the car, and he was quite satisfied.

"Everyone, this way please," Seth Isca opened the front door.

Linton stood at the entrance, carefully examining the interior decor.

Like most mansions, the designer integrated the interior renovations into the estate's design, with furniture and accessories all coordinated to match the overall style.

Mira looked at the mansion with stars in her eyes; it was just too luxurious and beautiful.

...

The main hall was an open layout with a high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, making the interior very bright.

Through the massive glass windows, the scenic views of the estate were fully visible.

Inside was a large dining room.

On the first floor's left side was a private theater with over twenty plush recliners.

Next to the theater was an indoor swimming pool with clear water and a constant temperature -- just looking at it made people feel relaxed.

The main house, although only three stories, had an elevator in addition to the staircase, showcasing its grandeur.

The upper floors had living areas, offices, and lounge spaces.

In the basement was a huge wine cellar and a large safe.

The wine cellar was mostly empty, waiting for a new owner to stock it with wine.

Linton took extra note of the safe; its large space could hold a lot.

He thought it could be practically useful, maybe for storing rare materials in the future.

On the right side of the first floor was a fully equipped reception room, lounge, guest rooms, and a large game room and gym.

...

Later, Linton and his group went upstairs. On the second floor, the left side had an office and lounge, while the right side housed guest bedrooms.

The third floor was smaller -- about 3,000 square feet, with a terrace garden.

The master bedroom included a nearly 1,000-square-feet walk-in closet, with a huge bed in the middle. Linton estimated it could comfortably sleep eight people.

There was also a luxurious bathroom with a 200-square-feet jacuzzi--clearly, the former owner, Logan Carlsonberg, was quite indulgent.

Outside the master bedroom, there was a massive 5,000-square-feet terrace garden filled with roses, lilacs, lavender, and other ornamental plants.

In the southeast corner, there was a special outdoor viewing area where you could overlook the entire estate and get a panoramic view of Beverly Hills.

Linton was very pleased with the structure, decorations, and furnishings, including the overall style.

Seth Isca timely mentioned, "All the furnishings and decor inside the estate are Chanel brand."

Linton looked at the furniture, which bore the Chanel logo.

"All the leather on Chanel furniture is handmade, so you won't notice any stitches," Seth Isca continued. "The wood used for the furniture comes from rare trees around the world."

"These carefully selected woods retain their natural grain and color. Chanel's wooden furniture also considers symmetry in the wood grain, creating balanced patterns that look luxurious and noble."

...

After inspecting the second and third floors, Linton returned to the first floor.

Overall, he was very satisfied with most of the interior decor.

The spacious layout combined with high-end Chanel furniture created a modern yet luxurious home atmosphere -- an ideal mansion for living.

"Mr. Anderson," Seth Isca said, sitting comfortably on a large sofa in the living room, "what do you think of this estate?"

Linton thought for a moment and replied honestly, "It's pretty good."

The main building alone covered 31,000 square feet, with fifteen bedrooms, seventeen bathrooms, all with walk-in closets. It would be more than enough even if more people moved in later.

He was overall happy with the mansion, but considerations about the manager, maintenance, kitchen staff, other workers, and taxes still needed to be addressed.

Fortunately, with enough money, those issues weren't really problems.

"Mr. Isca," Linton asked, "what's the price of this estate?"

Seth Isca smiled and said, "The bank is selling it to recover a loan, so it's priced below the current market value. If you're serious about buying, the company will offer you the lowest possible price."

Hollywood stars and singers were all wealthy, many enjoyed buying properties all over, and real estate agencies saw them as long-term valuable clients.

Linton nodded with a smile and asked, "Give me a specific figure."

Seth Isca directly quoted, "$22 million USD."

"Alright," Linton considered briefly and then asked, "Can your company assist with getting a loan?"

"Of course," Seth Isca replied. "It's very easy for high-quality clients like you to get a mortgage from the bank."

Linton then took a tour of the guesthouse and other secondary buildings, feeling pleased with everything.

He scheduled a formal signing with Seth in the afternoon and also called Goodman to oversee things.

"Prepare the contract, please. After signing this afternoon, I'll transfer the deposit to your account as soon as possible. I want to move in quickly," Linton said, expressing his satisfaction and readiness to sign.

"Also, please help me find two reliable housekeepers, gardeners, maintenance personnel, and a chef through your partner housekeeping companies," he added.

Seth was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly everything was going, and happily agreed, "No problem at all, Mr. Anderson. We'll have the contract signed this afternoon, complete the procedures tomorrow, and you could move in as early as tomorrow night."

"Mira, tomorrow go with Mr. Isca to handle the paperwork," Linton said.

"No problem," Mira replied.

"Mr. Anderson," Seth said, excited after settling the house deal, "this road, Muirland Drive, isn't far from Tom Cruise's mansion. He's one of our clients too. I think it won't be long before you're at his level."

Linton wasn't too impressed with the flattery; he knew quite well that the other was mostly flattering himself, probably just because of his money.

"Thank you, Mr. Isca. That's it for now. Please get the contract ready. I'll bring my lawyer this afternoon to sign at your office. Once the contract is signed, I'll transfer the initial payment, and tomorrow, you can help my agent with the formalities," Linton said.

...

In the afternoon, Linton brought Goodman, Mira, and Henry Zhou to the real estate agency, where they signed the estate purchase contract for $22 million USD. They paid an initial deposit of $7 million USD, with the remaining balance to be paid over ten years.
