Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Tang San nodded. The profession of blacksmithing was undoubtedly the most suitable for creating hidden weapons.

"Dad, you are getting older, and in few more years, when I am a bit older, you can teach me to forge kitchenware and let me take over your work."

Hearing what Tang San said, Hong Yan suddenly chuckled. If he knew the true power of Tang Hao, He really didn't know how will he react. After all, Tang Hao was a Title Douluo. It is enough for him to live at least 200 years.

Tang Hao seemed a bit distracted and muttered," Being a blacksmith doesn't seem bad." He pulled over an old chair, sat down directly in front of the slab of iron, and said languidly.

"Xiao San, Xiao Hong, tell me, what kind of blacksmith is the best blacksmith?"

Tang San thought for a moment and said," A blacksmith who can create a divine tool should be the best blacksmith."

He had heard people in the village say that divine tools existed in this world, even though he didn't know what exactly they were. But with the word 'divine' attached to them, they must be remarkable.

A mocking glint flashed in Tang Hao's eyes," Divine tools? Xiao San knows about divine tools too. Then, what about you, Xiao Hong?"

"Hm, I think what Tang San said is right. A blacksmith, who can't even forge Divine Tools or doesn't have a dream of forging Divine Tools aren't Best Blacksmith." He said everything without any hesitation. Because, in the original work, Blacksmith were really low rank profession. You can realize it by seeing that in the entire continent there are only A few capable blacksmiths. And there status though respectable, were because of their strength. Also, beside Luo Gao, the president of Blacksmith association, none of the remaining Divine Blacksmith want to work on making something like Divine Tools. A certain example was his father, Tang Hao. Despite being a Divine Blacksmith, he didn't have any good achievement in the field of Blacksmithing.

Once again Tang Hao looked at him like he was looking at an idiot. This puzzled him, because he didn't think he said anything wrong. After all his dream was to create his own weapon, and if the materials were available, he will certainly try to create a Divine Weapon.

"Oh, you also think so. Then tell me, what are divine tools made of?" Seeing him looking puzzled, Tang Hao asked.

Without hesitation, Tang San answered," Of Course, they are made from best materials."

After thinking for sometime Hong Yan answered," Though best materials were essential, the most important thing a Blacksmith needed, is the will and determination to forge the Divine Tool. He also needed to be skilled enough. Otherwise, only relaying on the best materials, will and determination, will not get him anything."

Tang Hao raised an index finger and shook it in front of Tang San," Tang San, remember my words if you want to be a qualified blacksmith; crafting divine tools from superior materials doesn't make one the best blacksmith, at most just an assembler. Only A Divine Craftsman can forge a divine tool from ordinary iron."

"But father, can it really possible to forge a divine tool from ordinary iron?" Hong Yan asked.

Tang San also intrigued by the question Hong Yan asked. After all, nobody can believe if a blacksmith can forge a divine tool with just simple iron.

"Hehe, Silly child, didn't you said just now, that the most important thing a blacksmith needed is the will and determination to forge a divine tool? Then, does he really need a superior material?" Tang Hao said in amused tone. He really was amused by the answer of this child.

"Oh, so can you teach us?" Hong Yan asked. Hearing the reply from Tang Hao, he somewhat understands that, he still lacks in the field of this type of conversation, so he asked again for learning.

Standing up, Tang Hao pointed to a large fifty-centimeter cube of iron on the other side of the room," If you want to become a blacksmith and learn forging from me, then start by striking it with a hammer ten thousand times. Only then will you have the qualifications."

It was a piece of ordinary iron, full of impurities and far inferior to the one containing iron essence.

Tang San, of course readily agreed. Hong Yan also agreed, but he found that there is only one piece of iron there. Noticing the problem, Tang Hao get inside the storeroom and brought out the same piece of iron and gave him to strike it.

After that, he walked over, picked up both chunk of iron and placed it directly beside the bellows of forge, ready to be heated as soon as the charcoal fire was lit.

After doing this all, Tang Hao went back inside to sleep.

When Tang Hao gets inside his room, both brothers glanced at each other. They didn't speak, but their eyes were filled with determination. Both started doing their work.

Lighting the charcoal fire and working the bellows, they began their task.

The huffing sounds of the bellows rose, and flames emerged from the furnace, heating the chunk of iron. While they both didn't know how to forge, they often watched Tang Hao make farming implements, and they understand the process.

As iron began to redden, Tang San dragged over the hammer Tang Hao typically used, placed it on the ground, a long-handled hammer, taller than himself. A normal five- or six-year-old child could not even lift it, much less wield it to forge.

Hong Yan also picks up his hammer, but his hammer was slightly smaller than the hammer Tang San picked up. Though, smaller in size but the weight of each hammer was same.

Yet, Tang San and Hong Yan still picked it up, channeling his Mysterious Heaven Method throughout his body. Although both had not yet broken through the first layer, they possessed the strength of an adult.

Clang, the collision between the hammer and iron rang out crisply. This was their first strike and the prelude to their forging.

In the other room, Tang Hao, lying in bed, turned over. Even though his eyes were closed, his face still held a trace of surprise as he murmured," They can actually lift the hammer, born with Divine power?"

Tang Hao was really surprised, because divine power of Tang San was understandable, after all Tang San was his son and the time Tang San was born, he is at the peak of Soul Douluo and Ah Yin was also a Soul Emperor. But he was surprised to find that, the child he picked up, has also divine power. Now he was really curious about the origin of his parents.

The persistent clanging in the blacksmith shop began to resound. Father and both sons continued their uneventful lives, but from that day forward, Tang Hao set up two extra forges in their respective rooms for them to work on the iron chunk themselves. He did not give them any instructions, but from that day, Tang Hao drink less, and there was more food at home. Seeing this both of them also became motivated.

Forging was a monotonous and exhausting process, but for Hong Yan, who didn't have any way to entertain himself, found fun in forging. He also noticed that every time after exhausting his inner strength and recovering it, his body started to become stronger. From the first day he noticed this change. He didn't keep it for himself but shared his thought with Tang San. Tang San also agreed with his thought. So, from that day their entire routine changed.

Eleven days later, Hong Yan and Tang San had swung his hammer over eight thousand times. The iron chunk kept shrinking, now less than a third of its original size. With their body's training and the increased food intake, they had grown sturdier, as if a force from within was gradually entering their body, reducing the consumption of his inner strength in the constant forging process. And when they exerted their full inner strength, their power increased significantly.

Hong Yan is striking the iron chunk with stability whereas Tang San is striking iron chunk relentlessly.

After Tang San struck his one thousandth hammer blow, the iron chunk had already changed distinctly, shrinking considerably. Despite being red-hot from the fire, it seemed that the impurities inside had reduced significantly.

The saying "forging steel through a hundred refines" came to Tang San's mind, further cementing his determination to complete the ten thousand swings. And he was getting ever closer to his goal.

Hong Yan wasn't idle either. His every strike was calculated and the force behind them was equal.

If Tang San's persistence surprised Tang Hao, then He was even more surprised to find the calm and collected attitude of Hong Yan. In his opinion, even if they both possessed Divine Power from birth, it was impossible for them to last more than three days, much less keeping calm composure when wielding a large hammer to forge. The Hammer's handle was so coarse to prevent slipping; the constant swinging and friction against the palm would inevitably cause great damage to their hands. Yet, he found that although Tang San was truly forging, those young hands appeared to remain unmarked, not even a single blister had formed. In this contrast, Hong Yan hand had some clauses, but he didn't show any pain on his face. This further surprised Tang Hao. He really began to wonder, if he was so lucky to find such monster.
