"Yuiling? Yuiling! You are okay. I was so worried about you. Why didn't you answer my calls?" Ding Feng said with a worrying look.
"I ignored them," Yan Yuiling answered with an angry face while clenching her fists under the table. "Ding Feng, I know what you tried to do this weekend. Why would I ever answer you? Now leave quickly and don't come back. Understood?"
Yan Yuiling, thinking back to what Yi told her, in combination with the look Ding Feng gave her: A look devoid of any form of guilt, she just couldn't pretend to be friendly anymore.
"Yuiling, what are you talking about? Did this monster tell you something else? Hear me out first if that is the case," Ding Feng started. Even though his cover was likely to be blown, he wouldn't give up after investing a month to chase after Yan Yuiling.
"You suddenly passed out, so I took you towards a hotel room to let you sleep in peace in a place no one could take advantage of you. Just as I was about to turn around and return to my party, though, a criminal came into the room. I fought with everything I had, but in the end, the criminal managed to hit me as I turned my back. In the end, I could barely get away from the gun he drew afterwards," Ding Feng told heroically. How would she know who was right?
"Then, after escaping, I called in the personal guards of my father to save you. Sadly, as they arrived, you were already gone. Yuiling, I was so worried about you, worried about what that human animal would do to you. Are you ok? How did you escape?"
Yan Yuiling shortly looked towards Yi, who just lightly shrugged his shoulders before addressing Ding Feng. "Yes, he told me about you, and I trust him more than you. He didn't do anything to me, but he saved me from you. Now go away; I don't want to see you."
"Yuiling, how could you believe him? We have known each other for a long time. How could you trust a criminal over me? Don't you know? He is a maniac. Before injuring me and kidnapping you, he even injured everyone at my party. Yuiling, come to your senses!"
"I'm as clear as I ever was. Now leave or I will have him throw you out," she pointed at Yi. Even though she had not seen what happened, she was sure that Ding Feng was the last person she would trust at this moment.
"You will throw me out? Don't talk nonsense. Yan Yuiling, don't forget that I can give you the opportunities to rise in this world. Do you really think that you can be successful without me?"
Ding Feng was getting desperate; he knew that convincing her with sweet words wouldn't work anymore; now he had to trust her smart side. He was sure that the benefits he could offer were better than anyone else's.
But sadly, things didn't develop in the direction he hoped for. Instead, Yi arrived in front of him and slowly dragged him towards the door. "Hey! Let me go! Don't you know who I am? If you go through with this, I will make your life hell!" He yelled at Yi, who simply ignored him.
"You better leave him alone," Yan Yuiling said. "He is my bodyguard, and his job is to protect me. Protect me from people like you! And if you make trouble for him, I won't ever forgive you," she said with conviction. Enough was enough.
"Yan Yuiling I warn you. Kicking me out would be the biggest mistake you ever made. You know, I was always nice to you, but if you can't accept a helping hand in business and even kick out the person who tried to save your life from a vicious criminal, you will learn that being nice is not the only thing I'm capable of."
"I already know. Now get him out," Yan Yuiling said without showing any emotion.
"I will end you..." *Click*. The door to her office closed, and Yan Yuiling could only hear the muffled screams through the closed door while putting her head on the table, finally giving in to her tumultuous emotions of meeting Ding Feng again after what happened before.
Meanwhile, Yi carried Ding Feng towards the office, to the elevators, and finally threw him out of the front door of the building. Screaming and threatening the entire way, alarming a lot of employees, Ding Feng got up and angrily drove away. He needed to destroy Yan Yuiling.
...
In another office building fairly close by. Ling Qidong knelt before his father.
In the aftermath of the party, Ling Qidong, after being put under pressure from the big families, was the supposed scapegoat and was about to land in jail. Luckily, his father personally apologized to everyone involved and even had to give up some company shares to get Ling Qidong out of his predicament.
Ling Chuses move was heavily criticized by the Ling family and made standing within the family shaky at best. Meanwhile, a lot of family members called for the disbandment of Ling Qidong.
Ling Chuse still managed to keep the leading spot within the company and shielded Ling Qidong from the worst. Ling Qidong was truly thankful, yet, at the same time, he didn't see himself at too much fault. After all, he didn't knock out the young masters, and if Li hadn't quit, his status might have risen instead.
"Father, please listen to me. Li is still bound to us by law. He always abided by what we said but did not know he couldn't leave. If we find him and force him back, we can use his strength to our advantage. If we control him, we can control every fight with fists. With him, we can become more than a simple company."
This was his resolve. Li had shown inhuman strength time and time again and didn't defy his orders. If used right, a weapon like Li would be an unreplaceable asset.
