Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Bank

Bam!

After ten minutes of confrontation, I once again crossed the

wand and unfurled a curtain into the air.

The heavy body of the eel hit the curtain.

I maintained a defensive stance by pushing my magical power

hard into the arm holding the wand. After regaining some stability, I swept

through the pack.

'The others aren't chimeras.'

It was a dark forest where not even moonlight could reach, but there was no problem securing visibility because magic was continuously

pouring down.

My skin started to shiver, whether it was because I was nervous or because it was cold in the early morning. I bit my lip and continued

swinging the wand.

'to be honest….'

I never expected that a Wolf King would appear in such a low-level demonic area.

It is even more likely that someone will come out and touch it maliciously.

There is never a single mention of a Wolf king appearing in the novel, and the main character intentionally chose a safe place because his

purpose was simply exploration.

Even when I did my own research, I found that the safety of this place had already been verified through numerous sources.

The plan went completely awry and my life was in danger… but for now, a change of perspective is needed.

'Perhaps it actually turned out well.'

If you think about it positively, it's not such a bad

situation.

After thinking that far, I immediately shook my head.

'I'm not crazy.'

Honestly, it's scary. No matter how much I try to change my perspective, I can't think positively when I'm faced with a situation where I

could die.

But it's already happened. So I have to do my best to survive. I don't have to be completely positive, but I can't give up my life to

regret.

I held the wand tightly with sweaty hands.

Bam! Bam!

The Wolf king continued to charge tirelessly at the thick curtain.

It would have been better if it had been hit in the head several times before it would have fallen, but it showed no sign of doing so.

I thrust the wand straight forward and sent one of them flying far away.

Bam!

[Geuu …

The wolf's howling in pain was heard.

The smell of blood that had been so strong that it made my head hurt was now supplemented with a new, bloody smell. The wolves went wilder

at the smell of their own kind.

I increased my attack speed accordingly. Then, something flashed past my vision.

"…!"

The space on the right flashed.

The red eyes of this person were cut off like a film and pushed up to the side of his fac

Kwaaang―! Kuung―

"Ugh!"

He fell to the floor in reaction.

Because I swung the wand so hastily, I didn't have time to strengthen my legs.

The smell of blood lingered strongly in the air again, as if the wolf king had died along with the fallen tree.

"Lucus!"

Leon shouted from somewhere.

In the process of driving away the eel, they moved quite far apart, and the sound was heard with a lot of resonance.

"Look around you carefully!"

I swatted away the fly that was flying over me and shouted with my blood running down my cheeks.

He has no time to worry about others in this situation.

I kicked the floor and got up.

From the moment he collapsed, it was clear that he had given Iri time.

So, one choice right now could determine my future.

As expected, the two remaining wolves rushed at me like

crazy. I closed my eyes tightly and without hesitation, grabbed the wand with

both hands and slammed it into the ground.

Kwaaaaang―!

The pure white light pouring from the wand illuminated the forest.

Leon, who was coming to help me after finishing the processing, blocked my view. I felt the presence of people getting closer and

shouted as I ran towards the wolf from a distance.

"Leon, take care of that!"

Leon suddenly lowered his arm and looked at the floor. One of the fallen Wolf was staggering up. Just looking at it, it was obvious that it couldn't walk properly, as it had already lost a lot of strength.

"...."

Leon took a step back, watching the dog approaching him with

drool dripping down his face.

The iris bit where Leon had been and stumbled again. When he fired his magic, it fell to the side helplessly. Leon approached it and looked

at the iris whose breath was fading away.

'When I think of that chimera creature….'

All of these Demonic Wolf must have been created like this by Demons.

If we let them live right now, our lives wouldn't be

guaranteed, and even if we somehow managed to survive, there was a chance they would come down to the villages, so we had to kill them all here and now. I don't regret that decision.

But….

'What if there was medicine?'

There would have been no reason for them to suffer like this. The number of people harmed by the devil would have been significantly

reduced. It would have been a good thing for everyone.

Leon placed his hand on Iri's chest.

As I poured magic power into it, the outline of the core took shape.

'What poison was Lucus drinking? If it's something that

suppresses the core, it might help as a stopgap measure. Ultimately, we'll need

to remove the core itself… so we'll need to put something in it.'

Leon rubbed his chin.

Let's try finding some ingredients to strengthen that poison.

Experiments will have to be done on a case-by-case basis to

make sure it works just before it penetrates the heart.

Since the poison that has spread throughout the body needs to be detoxified after the core is dismantled, the time required and the time

it takes for the medicine to be administered must be calculated and the

medicine administered at the appropriate time.

'It would be difficult in terms of cost to supply up to 2nd generation.'

Leon was lost in his thoughts and didn't notice Lucus coming up right in front of him.

"...."

I laughed in vain.

Leon was lost in thought, observing the dead wolf.

'Is this the situation I'm thinking of right now?'

Right now… I feel like I've witnessed a scene where the time for a cure for pollution has been brought forward significantly

I sat down next to him and asked.

"Are you going to make a cure?"

"Huh? How did you know?"

"It's written all over your face."

"Huh? Anyway, I'll give it a try. I'll give it a try."

"That's great. You'll succeed."

"hmm….

Leon, who had been frowning at the various calculations, smiled brightly.

"Yeah, let's try to make it a success."

As someone who read it 10 years later, it was a new experience to witness his growth process firsthand.

In this unfamiliar place, I felt like I was meeting someone I knew.

'… I think I brought things forward a bit, but anyway.

What's good is good, I guess.

I stood up and asked.

"Are you hurt anywhere?

"I'm fine, except for a scratch on my arm. What about you?"

"doesn't exist."

I don't know about Leon, but I have an identity problem, so I shouldn't have created any clues that could identify the person, like a

wound, but fortunately, no major wounds were caused

I picked up the bag I had brought and nodded toward Iri.

"Okay, let's tidy up and go back."

***********

"You're here. I was worried because you didn't come even though it's almost morning…."

The manager stopped in his tracks to greet the two.

The bag that was half-floated in the air was bigger than before.

'How many have you beaten up?'

Although it is an area where demons are installed, it is not a dangerous area, so there is no way that many could be caught. It was so

surprising how far they had to go to catch something like that.

His eyes, filled with shock and admiration, belatedly turned to the two people's clothes. The clothes were dark and hard to see, but upon

closer inspection, they were contaminated with blood and mud.

"Are you okay?!"

"I'm fine. I'd like you to take care of this first."

Leon gathered the bags and placed them on the floor. The

caretaker took the bags and untied the strings.

"Where… Hmm?"

The manager froze in thought.

'I knew it.'

I explained further before he could be more surprised.

"This is it. I think you should contact the police

headquarters."

"This, this can't be here…."

At this level, it is at least intermediate level or higher.

Even I, who knew nothing about it, could clearly see that.

It was not a place that would come out from this place, which was designated as

a low-level risk zone.

Of course, aside from the level of the demon, I have never

seen a wolf living here in all my life growing up here.

"Oh, there's a chimera wolf among them."

"yes?!"

"It looks like someone has intentionally combined this

creature with another creature by magic. There will probably be a gag order on

that creature. Please don't talk to the press."

It's not common for a wizard to set foot in a place like

this, so there's a good chance the press will come out to cover it.

I wish I didn't know, but I have to get the money

transferred from a bank connected to this place, so the story can't stay out.

The manager nodded vigorously at my words, as if he had

accidentally stepped into a dirty business.

"Yes, that goes without saying."

As the manager's panic grew, I got straight to the point.

"Then when can I get paid? The cash I have here won't be

enough."

Due to the risk of theft, only small amounts of money are

stored here.

In the first place, all those who had received compensation

up until now were non-magicians, so the amount paid was not large.

"Ah, that's…."

The manager stood up and opened a desk drawer.

A communications magic tool bearing the logo of the ImperialCentral Bank appeared.
