The three of them walked through the mansion toward the cars waiting outside. As soon as they were out of view, Alex tried to pull her arm free from Julian's.
But he didn't let go.
"That was so cool! Did you see the look on her face? I swear, she looked ready to pass out!" Riley squealed in excitement.
But then her expression shifted, turning sharp as her eyes landed on Julian. "So it's true. You're a big shot now. Not only did you leave without saying goodbye, but you also lied to us. You have some nerve showing your face after what you did. Alex got sick because of you. And now she's being harassed by your mother."
"Riley." Alex snapped, shooting her a warning look.
"What?" Riley huffed. "He needs to know and take responsibility for his actions. His girlfriend needs to be straightened out. She can't go around assaulting people because of her jealousy."
Julian ignored the tension, his eyes scanning Alex's face. "You are sick? Let's go to the hospital."
