Chapter 1 - Another chance at life

"Fuck..." I said while I began spewing out blood.

I lifted my sword that lay in my hand. It had cracks all over the blade that seemed to be on the verge of breaking.

My eyes slowly getting covered by the blood that drips from the wounds from my head. I hear the growls that surround me. The monsters that I once fought, surround me as if I were prey to them.

...

My comrades that I once fought with gone from this place from the betrayal.

My wife betrayed me with the hero. My subordinates rebelled against me due to the hero. My comrades that I fought with turned their blades against me. I did nothing to them but when we fought the demon King, they left me there to fight him all alone.

I took him out but I ended up getting stabbed in the back by my wife who was our party's healer. The anger I felt at the moment she stabbed me, was unsurmountable. Then she proceeded to say she was in love with the hero.

Anger consumed me and I killed her.

I walked out the demon Kings throne room with hatred. As soon as I walked out I was sent flying by the hero. He nearly killed me by the attack he did. I did what my emotions told me to do.

Kill him.

"YOU FUCKING SON OF A BITCH! YOU DARE TO ATTACK ME WHEN I DID NOTHING BUT HELP YOU ON THIS JOURNEY!" I said while holding out my Blade that was forged by my father who died during the demon Kings invasion.

"You have nothing to say, you demon. You killed your wife you loved you dearly. You betrayed us during the last battle we had before. And you expect me, The hero, to give you a welcoming ceremony. YOU ARE WRONG!" Yelled the hero as he readied an attack.

"OH THAT'S IS QUITE THE WORDS YOU SAY WHEN YOU WERE THE ONE WHO BETRAYED ME. I SAVED YOU WHEN YOU WERE AT YOUR LOW. I GAVE YOU ANOTHER CHANCE AT LIFE AND THIS IS WHAT YOU GIVE ME BACK! I WILL PERSONALLY KILL YOU FOR EVERYTHING THAT HAD HAPPENED TO ME WAS DUE TO YOU!!' I yelled at him as I sprinted towards him to attack.

The hero stopped the attack he was about to do and blocked mine. Our blades crossed each other with each attack. Sparks illuminated the dark room that we were in. Our skills in swordsmanship were on par with each other.

Each attack we both did to each other was only blocked by the other. But due to me being exhausted by the battle of the demon King, I was slowly overpowered by the attacks of the hero.

Eventually my blade started to crack with the attacks we both gave each other. The armor I wore slowly fell apart as I moved it attack the hero.

Finally the hero swung his sword to the left, I blocked it but I was overpowered and I ended getting a fatal injury. I dropped to the ground and threw my sword away from myself. The sound of metal resonated throughout the hallway we were in.

Once the hero saw me drop to the ground, he stopped his attacks and looked down at me.

"This is the end for you, Arthur. Surrender to me and you shall live. But if you were to refuse my offer, I shall kill you." Said the hero.

"I would rather die than to surrender to someone who betrayed me." I said while I immediately took out a knife out of my armor and stabbed him in the neck with it.

The blood of the hero splattered all over my face as I stabbed in the neck. My pitch black hair and face stained with the blood of my enemy.

Finally after I stabbed him, he dropped to the ground grabbing his neck as he slowly suffocated without air and also started to drown in his own blood.

After a minute, the hero finally let go of his neck as he died from where I stabbed him. But as soon as he did, the rest of the party I was in finally arrived to my location and drew their swords.

"Please don't make it hard for me guys. I really don't want to kill you, like I did with the hero and our healer." I said to them

"We don't trust the words of a demon. We shall slay you at where you stand" They yelled in unison.

"Suit yourselves." I said while I picked up my already broken sword.

I opened my inventory and brought some sword repairing dust. After I dumped it over my sword, I immediately teleported in front of them and sliced their heads off without any troubles.

They were eradicated in the matter of seconds. Their heads slide of their necks and dropped to the ground after their bodies fell also.

I conjured up a fire spell and burned their bodies into ashes, leaving no evidence behind.

I walked out the hallway I was in but fate had other plans for me. When I was about to step out the hallway, I stepped on a trap spell. This spell then teleported me into the depths of the demon Kings Castle.

"God damnit!" I yelled as I got teleported.

I looked around me to see which floor I ended up. The dark dried up trees, no vegetation in sight, the feeling of miasma that surrounds the area.

The Undead domain.

"Shit! I'm already tired and this shit sent me to the Undead domain." I said to myself as I began to hear the monsters here awakening.

I held out my sword that checked how damaged it is. Small cracks showed upon the blade.

'Two more special attacks and this sword is finished.' I thought to myself.

I placed some some repairing dust on it but it didn't affect the current sword. I sighed as I knew I was going to die here. I placed a strengthening spell for the blade to last a bit more longer.

I raised my sword above my head as I got ready for another death battle. When I readied my sword to attack, a hord of undead appeared to attack me.

I went into my inventory and brought out a shield that was given to me by the former hero of these lands. I proceeded to enhance myself with holy power to make my battle with the undead a bit more easier. My body glowed a bright as I was covered my the divine light.

The undead immediately attacked me as soon as they saw me. But lucky for me I was ready for their attacks. I swung my sword to block and attack the undead at the same time. Immediately on contact the undead turned into ash and disappeared with the wind.

I kept doing the same attacks over and over until the wave of undead was finished.

Before long, another horde appeared after the first. It included more undead with the addition of shadow demons.

I kept doing the same attack patterns for the undead but changed up when it came to the shadow demons. I just recited some text of the holy scripture that I learned when I liberated the holy continent of Merona from the clutches of the archbishop of death, Zeber.

Oh Holy Father, forgive the sins of these beast. As they were once humans themselves. The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say a concerning the Lord, who is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust: He himself will rescue you from the bird trap, from the destructive plague. He will cover you with his feathers; you will take refuge under his wings.

His faithfulness will be a protective shield. You will not fear the terror of the night, the arrow that flies by day, the plague that stalks in darkness, or the pestilence that ravages at noon. Though a thousand fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, the pestilence will not reach you. You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.

I kept battling the undead as I recited one of the chapters of the holy scripture. Every shadow demon disappeared with each word I recited. Each word I recited, only empowered my powers as I was filled with the faith I had for the lord.

Eventually, I killed the rest of the wave that came. For a moment, I thought I was finished with the waves, but it seemed yet again fate hated me.

Immediately as I sat down, four more waves immediately were summoned and were much stronger than the ones I faced before.

I raised my already aching body from the ground and faced my enemies with my already damaged blade that I have. I then jumped towards the incoming waves and began the next battle.

...

I sliced down my final enemy and dropped to the ground. Exhausted down to the soul, I lay there breathing heavily as I stared at the starry night.

"Why? Why did I have to be betrayed my comrades? I did nothing but help them. Yet, I stabbed in the back." I said to myself.

As I finished talking to myself, I began hearing the growls of the next horde or wave being summoned here.

My eyes slowly getting covered by the blood that drips from the wounds from my head. I hear the growls that surround me. The monsters that I once fought, surround me as if I were prey to them.

I stuck my blade in the ground and used it to prop myself up.

I lifted my blade into a middle guard. My arms —despite being heavy— still held the blade in the stance for one last fight before they were rendered useless. One of the undead charged at me and began attacking. I raised my sword to block the attack, but that was when another to undead came charging towards me with a sword in their hands.

I wasn't able to block it on time and was severely injured from the attack. The amount of blood I've lost from fighting this long against the relentless waves of enemies nearly dried me out. Each time I cauterized the wounds I have, the monsters make a new wound.

Before long, I was paralyzed from top to bottom as my body was shutting down due to immense blood loss. I fell to the ground. I was then stabbed all over my body, bitten on my legs, and had my arms cut off by the monsters.

My body kept trying to heal me as I got so many wounds. My eyes bloodshot red as my was torn apart and regenerated back to normal in a cycle. Bloody tears came out my eyes as I got poisoned. I was grabbed by the head and was slammed on top of a sharp rock nearly killing me instantly.

I tried to scream in pain but I had no strength left in me.

My intestines were slowly ripped out of me. Every body part has been eaten and regenerated.

I don't even know how long it's been since this whole process of me getting torn apart began. But finally I saw the light. A bright light that made me think it was time for me to live on. My consciousness faded as I stared at the light.

Eventually I died and my body was left to be devoured by the enemies I once faced.

...

"AHHHH!" I yelled as I jumped up from my bed.

Sweat dropped from my face as I woke up abruptly. I touched my face with my hands. I lifted it off my face and looked towards it.

"I'm....alive?" I questioned.

I took off my clothes and went towards a broken mirror in my room. I checked for the wounds I had before, but it seemed that the wounds weren't there anymore.

While I was distracted by what I was doing. Someone busted down my door and jumped towards me. Suddenly my anger rose to an unpredictable pace.

it was my former parties healer who's stabbed me in the back.
