Jean glared at him but the damn contract flashed through her mind. She exhaled sharply. "Fine."
Logan raised a brow, genuinely surprised. She stood on her toes, lips nearing his. He instinctively lowered his head, breath held.
Then smack.
Her lips landed gently on his cheek.
Before he could react, she ducked out from under his arm, coffee in hand, and sauntered to the breakfast table like nothing happened.
Logan stood frozen, one brow twitching.
And here I thought I'd finally get a taste of her...
Logan turned slowly, still recovering from Jean's clever dodge, when one of the maids giggled behind her hand.
Another whispered to her side, "He really thought she'd kiss him for real."
Jean sipped her coffee with a smug expression, pretending not to hear… but her lips twitched.
Logan shot a sharp glance at the two staff members. "Is the table amusing you?"
They immediately bowed their heads and scrambled away.
