"Don't worry mother, your daughter is a soldier"

Lisa Castellano POV
I winced as the alcohol pad pressed against my dark purple-bluish bruise. "What made you think you could escape?" His voice was gruff.
"I didn't...?"
"Your entire body looks like it's been through some shit..."
He didn't need to be so rude. Kneeling in front of me he patches up my leg a bit. A soft breeze hits my leg and I shiver slightly. He blows on them and I admire him. Lisa get your act together. He kidnapped you.
When he's done, a sigh escaped him. "Why'd you lock me in?"
Rocco 'The Beast' Moretti
With each swing of the golf stick, my mind races with the thought of making her mine. She's mine. Not his. "Boss. Phone call."
I rest the golf stick on my shoulder and take the phone from one of my goons. I can kill him if I wanted to. "Yes? The Beast speaking," I say, putting it up to my ear. "...He's still breathing?"
As the person on the other end tells me more of this poor idiot's condition, it only confirms my will. If I don't break him now, he'll never pay back what he signed up for. "Beat him till he's dead."
Lisa Castellano POV
It's been a few hours since he said he'll be back. I wonder where he is, anyway. Lisa, stop thinking about him. He's your number one... sexy enemy. "Marco?"
"Yes, ma'am?"
"Where is he, anyway?" I ask, hugging a pillow close to my chest. I'm on the couch laying flat, twisting and turning every so often.
Lorenzo Romano POV
I didn't know what dress or outfit she liked or her size, so I picked whenever I found. My brother is away somewhere drinking and having the time of his life. Should've thought of a girl's expenses before kidnapping her.
Over 5 shopping bags in hand, and a black card in my mouth, I make my way back to the car. Now I have to put these in the trunk or the passenger seat. The cold metal of the trunk handle brushes my hands as I unlock it, and quickly drop the bags in.
"That girl... is expensive without even being here."
I massage my arms and shoulders before slamming it shut–the sudden thud reverberating through my black dodge. Expensive little shit.
Lisa Castellano POV
The afternoon sun shone harshly against the glass on the end table. I stir awake, and still no sign of... spoke too late.
He walks in with... I try to count how many shopping bags he has. That's too many. "Are you trying to buy me something so I shut up about this?"
My eyebrows are furrows, and I discard the pillow on the couch, sitting up.
"If you don't want it... I'll sent this to... someone else... maybe someone on the street would appreciate it."
He takes a deep breath and then slams all the bags down onto the floor, the crackling of the plastic and rustling of whatever was inside.
"Wasted all my money. Just for what?"
Storming away, he is making remarks that cuts through me. It's not that I didn't appreciate it. He could've just let me go home? Don't look at those bags, Lisa.
I cross my arms across my chest and keep my face up. Every so often, I let my gaze wander to the shopping bags. After a while, I just give in and look inside them. Several fabrics, with different colors, lay perfectly folded.
"Is he here?" A gentle, feminine voice flitted through the living room. Her face–as if the hard light didn't me to know who she was. A mix of vanilla and caramel scent teased my nose as I searched her face.

"Look at that, cannot speak?" I say. My goons laugh at my statement, and I know I've broken him. With the silver bat, I kneel in-front of him and poke him like meat.
I chuckle loudly, still poking him like meat. "Look at this guy... All broken and bleeding... isn't it quite the sight?"
The guy groaned, and I took the bat, swinging at his head. When it connected with his skull, I hear a crack. Blood oozes down his forehead and to the floor, pooling like water.
"I don't want him alive. But... Lisa, I need her."
I was dead set on that girl. Giovanni promised I'd get her. A smirk tugs at the edge of my face.
Lisa Castellano POV
"Who are you?" I ask. The girl in-front of me... No, the woman in my line of vision is sending mixed signals. The dress she wore hugged her body nicely–defined hips with a small upper body. Her hair sat in curls, framing her face almost too perfect.
"Ruby Kane?"
"Enzo?" She says, and runs to him in her tall heels. Mine are thick ones. Enzo and Ruby embrace each other like old friends. I doubt she's here cause she's genuinely concerned about her friend.
They pull away and sit down. Enzo sits next to me, and she sits on the other side. On the small chair. "Whiskey? You didn't tell me you had someone over. Who is this?"
"Lisa Castalleno. And she wasn't a guest at my home, she... she's the one I kidnapped."
"Like as in The Castellano?"
I try to hide under my hair. This is not how I wanted to meet people. "I've heard so much about the Castellano's. Aren't they the biggest crime family?"
"...yeah, we are kinda... big."
"They deal with a wide variety of things, don't they?"
"It's not all sunshine and rainbows Ruby...We have snuggled in humans from all over and some were sent to do... things I'm not proud to say..." I reply, raising my head and pushing my hair away from my face.
Enzo knows what other things my family's done. "The Romano is big too, aren't they, whiskey?"
He nods to confirm this and his family isn't clean, either. They've had their hands dug deep into things not so good.
