Have you ever felt immediately attracted towards someone for seemingly no reason at all? Like you just want to push their buttons until they explode?
My name is Yerim Hwang. I'm an ENTP, and my favorite food is cold noodles. I used to be an actress at some point during my career, but I'm probably best known as the CEO of Cheongug Entertainment, one of the largest entertainment industries in South Korea.
We've made almost every a-lister celebrity with our genius formula for success and incredible training programs. I don't want to brag but without us, SK Entertainment wouldn't have the impact that it does. We were the first to get idols on the international stage, and bring American audiences to South Korea. In fact the government should thank us for increasing the tourism to here so much.
But I'm getting a little ahead of myself here.
My company has recently been facing an issue with smaller enterprises suing us for defamation accounts. Weird, I know right? But what can you do? The path of a public figure is never easy, you know?
Afterwards, I contacted my secretary and asked her to search for a law firm that would be willing to manage my case. I wanted to ensure that they were credible enough that I could trust them with our personal information, but I guess I should give my secretary a raise. Who knew that lawyers could be so cute and ferocious.
As soon as I stepped into the office for the meeting, my secretary had booked, I met a capable and intimidating attorney who seemed to know what she was doing. What I didn't know was that I was going to be assigned to an inexperienced lawyer who was taking on her first case! I was a little taken back because I mean I'd like to think that I'm a pretty important person, but I gave up any resistance once she stepped into the room.
My ears savored the sharp sound of tall, black heels caressing the doorway. She was around 4-5 inches shorter than me despite wearing heels. Her silky, black hair was in a short bob with one side tucked behind her ears. She was wearing a long black skirt and a white blouse. Her face seemed sullen, like a child about to get reprimanded. She was kind of cute.
I think I stared at her face for a little too long, because she challenged my stare by staring back at me. This time I could take note of some of her features: her eyes were innocent and catlike, her nose curved softly downwards, and her lips were slightly curved upwards— she furrowed her eyebrows when she realized that I wasn't going to look away. She's like a stubborn little cat…
"… This is Kim, Iseul and she will be the attorney assisting with your case. I understand that you might feel uncomfortable with your case being taken on by someone who isn't as experienced, so I've asked Ms. Kim to assist as necessary…"
I was in good hands. Slender and pale ones at that. I'm in trouble; I may have to pay my secretary that raise after all. Finding a lawyer like her?
I clasp my hands together and sit through the rest of the meeting. I met the attorney who was representing me a while earlier. Her name was Jiwon Oh and she seemed capable as well, but a little more shakey.
She dressed similarly to Iseul but wore her hair in long waves similar to mine. She might've been a little taller than Iseul, but I could be wrong. Her energy was definitely more eccentric, to say the least. I was slightly worried at first, but looking at the woman in front of me, I couldn't have felt more secure.
The meeting ended at around 12:30, which was the perfect time for lunch. I wanted to take the opportunity to get on Iseul's good side and maybe get her number…
Approaching the lawyer shortly after the meeting, I used my charm to persuade her to grab lunch with me.
"Ms. Kim, if you would be willing, would you like to grab lunch with me? I'm sure that it won't take longer than 30 minutes."
"No, thank you. I don't eat with strangers."
Her sharp words reverberate in my head.
Strangers? Should I be offended? Who doesn't want to eat with the Yerim Hwang? I know millions of people who would pay good money for even just having a meeting with me…
".. But we're not strangers Ms. Kim, I'm your client .."
".. That's different. My coworker works with you, and I assist my coworker, which means that we have no relation to each other. That means that we're strangers." She finishes and gives me a cold look. She looks just like a sulky kitten…
"Then lunch would be a good opportunity for us to get acquainted. You're assisting your coworker who is assisting me. You're basically assisting me with my case. That makes me your client, and as your client I would like you to have lunch with me."
At this point she sounds exasperated, and I do admit that I can be quite persistent, but who wouldn't be persistent for that grumpy face?
"You have 30 minutes, and then I'll have to get back to work.."
Victory is mine! Victory has never tasted so sweet. You will be mine, Iseul.
