Characters that you will meet in Chapter One, A New Dawn: The Birth of a Princess. It does not include the mentioned characters or Astrith (she will get her own when she is older 🤭)
Sigyn Iwaldisdottir
Originally betrothed to a warrior named Theoric, Sigyn is the daughter of a Lord from Vanaheim, the adopted daughter of King Motsognir of Nidavellir, and a granddaughter of Mundilfari. She was tricked into marrying Loki Laufeyson when he killed her betrothed and disguised himself as Theoric. Odin was furious and offered her the chance to leave Loki, but she did not take it and earned the title Goddess of Loyalty. She remained by his side for millennia, even through his infidelities, and she gave him five sons and one daughter.
Loki Laufeyson
Loki, known for his cunning and mischievous nature, is the son of the giant Fárbauti and the giantess Laufey. He often finds himself at the center of chaos and intrigue. With a talent for deception, Loki's actions can bring both trouble and unexpected solutions. He has a tumultuous relationship with the other gods, serving as both a companion and a foe. His intelligence and resourcefulness make him a pivotal figure, embodying the delicate balance between creation and destruction. Loki's adventures often lead to significant turning points, revealing the duality of his character and the consequences of his choices. It is unknown how he came to live on Asgard, only that he had made a blood pact with Odin on the battlefield, cementing a bond. However, he is closer to Thor in age and bond and views Odin as more a father than a brother. He has his castle at the edge of Asgard, bordering the Kattegat Ocean and the Kingdom of Aegir & Rán.
Thor Odinson
Thor is a powerful and heroic figure renowned for his strength and bravery. The son of the god Odin and the earth goddess Jord, he wields the mighty hammer Mjölnir, which grants him the ability to summon lightning and thunder. Known for his fierce temperament and unwavering loyalty, Thor often embarks on epic quests to protect his home and defend the innocent. His adventures are filled with battles against formidable foes and encounters with mythical creatures. Despite his fearsome reputation, Thor possesses a deep sense of honor and a strong bond with his family and friends, making him a beloved figure among those who admire courage and resilience.
Odin Borrson
Odin is a wise and enigmatic figure, revered for his vast knowledge and mastery of magic. As the chief of the gods, he embodies the traits of leadership, sacrifice, and relentless pursuit of wisdom. The son of the giant Bor and the giantess Bestla, Odin is known for his quest to understand the mysteries of the universe, often at great personal cost. He is associated with war, poetry, and prophecy, frequently depicted with his iconic spear, Gungnir, and accompanied by his ravens, Huginn and Muninn, who gather information from the world. Odin's complex nature reflects both benevolence and ruthlessness as he navigates the challenges of his role as a protector and guide for humanity while seeking to maintain balance in the cosmos.
Cadeus Theliousson
Cadeus is the only known son of the late King Thelious Alfursson II. He lost both his parents when he was still quite young and was raised by his uncle, Hafgrim, alongside his cousin, Elvilda. He was trained in the ways of the battlefield and often led the Alfheimr soldiers to battle. Though he thinks of his uncle as a father figure, he can sense an underlying tension behind Hafgrim's "caring" eyes. Upon his marriage to Lady Amberle Agnisdottir, Cadeus was crowned King of Alfheim. He and his wife have two beautiful children in their lifetime: Alloralla, the Crown Princess, and Adjeon, who is seemingly lost to history.
Amberle Agnisdottir
Amberle is the only daughter of Duke Agni Ignisson. Her mother, a renowned beauty from Alfheimr, tragically passed away during childbirth. Due to this loss, Agni doted on his daughter, especially as she began to resemble her late mother more and more. On the eve of her hundredth birthday, Amberle became engaged to Cadeus, and they eventually married. Amberle also has an older brother, Asmund Agnisson, who is 39 years her senior and shares a deep affection for her.
Kætlä (Kate-lah) Lokisdottir
Kætlä is one of Loki's (many) illegitimate children and his eldest daughter by the sorceress Aurora Tiransdottir. Kætlä, known as Kay to her friends and family, has an older brother named Odænir and a younger sister named Skelda. As one of Loki's illegitimate daughters, she was mostly free from "royal" expectations and got to live her life however she wanted. She does not have a good relationship with her father and will often be cold to him. Kætlä is married to Drudwyn Escanorsson, who had previously been assigned to be her guard and is now being groomed to take his father's place as a Captain of the Palace Guards.
Hermod Odinson
Hermod is a valiant and noble figure known as one of Odin's many sons. Often depicted as a messenger and a brave warrior, he carries a sense of duty and loyalty to his family. Hermod is particularly recognized for his courageous journey to the underworld in a desperate attempt to rescue his brother Balder after his untimely death. His unwavering determination and swift actions highlight his heroic spirit. Though not as widely known as some of his siblings, Hermod's character embodies themes of sacrifice and devotion, showcasing the lengths one will go to for loved ones in times of great adversity.
Thrud Thorsdottir
Thrud is a strong and formidable figure known as the daughter of the mighty god Thor. With a fierce spirit that reflects her father's legendary prowess, she embodies the traits of bravery and resilience. Thrud is often portrayed as a warrior in her own right, ready to defend her home and stand against any challenge that comes her way. Her name means "strength," which aptly captures her character as she navigates her adventures and responsibilities. Thrud's legacy is marked by her connection to her family and her determination to uphold their values, making her a symbol of empowerment in her own right.
Vidarr Odinson
Vidarr is a stoic and powerful figure, recognized as one of Odin's sons. Often associated with vengeance and silence, he embodies strength and resilience in the face of adversity. Known as the "Silent God," Vidarr is destined to play a crucial role during the events of Ragnarok, where he will confront the monstrous wolf Fenrir and avenge his father's death. With his immense physical power and unwavering determination, Vidarr represents the themes of retribution and justice. Though he may not be as widely celebrated as some of his siblings, his presence serves as a reminder of the enduring strength that lies within, ready to rise when the time calls for it.
Sif Mundilfarisdottir
Sif is a graceful and strong figure known as the wife of the mighty god Thor. Revered for her beauty, she also possesses a fierce spirit that matches her husband's legendary strength. With her long, golden hair symbolizing the richness of the earth, Sif is often associated with fertility and the harvest. She is a nurturing presence, deeply connected to her family, and protective of those she loves. Sif's character reflects loyalty and resilience, standing by Thor's side during his many adventures and challenges. Her wisdom and courage make her an integral part of the narrative, showcasing the strength found in partnership and the importance of unity in facing life's trials.
