Chapter 15
The next day at the office, Chan returned from his long vacation.
As he walked toward Jay's office to meet him, he noticed that all the employees were whispering about the new vice chairman. Curiosity sparked in his eyes, and he instantly headed to his office , Jay spotted him and immediately pulled him into a hug.
After catching up for a bit, Chan finally asked, "So, who's this new vice chairman everyone's talking about?"
Jay let out a sigh and said, "It's Chris."
Hearing the name, Chan's expression hardened. Jay went on to explain everything that had happened in the past few days and then warned him, "Just don't bring up anything about Chris in front of Bella. She doesn't know about our past connection."
On his way to his office, Chan accidentally bumped into Sunny.
Sunny turned to see him, and as soon as she recognized him, she exclaimed excitedly, "It's you! Chan, how have you been?"
Chan smiled warmly and replied, "I'm good. And you?"
Sunny, Chan, Jay, and Chris had all been close friends in college, but something tragic had happened in the past, changing all of their lives forever.
Sunny and Chan go for a coffee break and they ask about each other life.
After sometime later, Chan ask about her to be a Chris assistant, so she tells that he gave her a good opportunity to work so she accepted.
And then he ask her, why Chris became our company vice chairman.
Sunny reply, "sorry, I can't tell you about why he choose to become this company chairman, it was his dicision, as an assistant I just do as he says."
Chan let out a small chuckle. "It's okay. I know you've been through a lot because of them, too."
Sunny forced a small smile. "It's all in the past now."

In Jay's Office
Bella entered after finishing her work, carrying a lunchbox she had prepared for Jay.
Just as she was about to set the food on his desk, Chan walked in and grinned. "Wow, are you two having lunch alone?"
Without hesitation, he grabbed one of the lunchboxe and took a bite—only to immediately spit it out.
"What is this?!" he coughed. "Bella, I'm sorry, but this is way too salty! No human can eat this!"
Bella glared at him and threw a file at him. "Who told you to eat my food without permission?"
Jay, amused by the situation, leaned back in his chair, watching the two bicker.
Chan turned to Jay in disbelief. "And you eat this every day?"
Jay chuckled. "How can I not eat it when she makes it with so much love?" He paused, then grinned. "But today, you saved me. Thanks, Chan."
Bella pouted and turned away in mock anger.
Jay smiled, gently turning her face back toward him. Holding her hands, he said softly, "why are you making your hand rough, I promised your parents to take care of you and you want me to get scolded by them.
Let me cook food for you and take care of you, And if you really want to, you can cook on special occasions."
Chan dramatically cleared his throat. "Ahem, guys, I'm still here."
Jay shot him an annoyed look before throwing another file at him. "Then why are you still standing here?"
Bella laughed and then suddenly asked, "By the way, what about that girl you went on vacation with?"
Chan raised an eyebrow and turned to Jay. "You told her?"
Jay smirked. "Actually, the girl you went with is Bella's school friend. She saw your picture with her."
Chan scratched his head. "It's not like that… We just met by accident. But, I won't lie—I have a crush on her."
He turned to Bella with hopeful eyes. "Since she's your friend, can you help me?"
Bella crossed her arms. "No way! You always tease me. Why should I help you?"
Chan clasped his hands together dramatically. "Please, sister-in-law! You're like a sister to me! You can't refuse me!" He even put on an innocent face for extra effect.
Bella sighed. "Fine, fine. Just don't make that face."
Jay and Bella both laughed at his antics.

Sudden Trouble
A knock on the door interrupted their conversation.
"Mrs. CEO," an employee said, sounding panicked. "There's a serious problem with the store!"
Jay, Bella, and Chan rushed to the store in a hurry. When they arrived, they found inspection officers sealing off the store.
Bella ran up to them. "What's going on? Why are you shutting down our store?"
The officers ignored her, continuing their work.
Jay stepped forward, but before he could intervene, Chris walked past him and stood in front of the officers.
"What is this happening?" Chris asked in a calm but authoritative tone. "I am the vice chairman of this company."
One of the officers looked at him and responded, "We received multiple complaints against this store. Many customers have demanded its closure."
Chris narrowed his eyes. "Let me see the complaint."
The officer handed him the document, and Chris scanned through it before turning back to the officer.
"Give us one week to resolve this issue," he said firmly. "After that, if the problem isn't fixed, you can take action."
After that, the officer agreed. "One week. No more."
As the officers left, Chris turned to Bella. "This is all I can do for you. You have one week to save your store."
