"Shinigami" This is a Japanese name which translates as "Demon of Death" or "Death God" Someone who literally leaves death in his wake and any part he walked that was the name given to Shinsei.
This did contradict the name given to Shinsei which meant "Divine" or "Sacred" but the reason for his name was because of how he was during battles, black demonic eyes and a cold expression with blood decorating his body parts.
He never smiled nor had friends in the place where they had been held hostage, unlike the others who had time to talk to each other and socialize Shinsei spent most of his time there training and sleeping.
"Hey he's at it again" A small girl around the age of seven said to the group that surrounded her making them all turn to meet a pale boy with a lean body getting beat up by a masked man in all black clothing.
The stikes from the man were extremely fast and even though the five year old boy was fast there was no way he could dodge such strikes.
"He's youngest here and he likes getting beat up" The girl said as the others chuckled going back to eating the bland slices of breads on their hands.
After getting beat up for the whole day Shinsei laid his body on the floor weak, his pieces of bread handed to him had been taken away from him by the others and he was too tired to fight for them.
"Hey... " A small black-haired girl bent low and streched her arms forward putting a piece of bread in Shinsei's mouth who hurriedly chomped down on it, she then did so until he had finished her whole stack.
"That's all I had... Rest now" She said putting his head on her lap rubbing his hair softly, "Sleep now..." Shinsei heard her soft voice speak and although he wanted to raise his head and leave his body wouldn't reply as his eye lids closed softly.
He didn't talk to anyone? Well maybe he was trying to seem cool or he forgot on purpose but this was the first and only friend he had made at that time.
She cared for him more than she did herself and although she got punished for such acts she never stopped for once even when he tried telling her to leave him she never did staying by his side.
Days turned to weeks and weeks eventually turned to years before they knew it five years had passed and so the battle for survival of the fittest had arrived.
The children had begun fighting against themselves the sound of their grunting filled the room.
"Ha!" A girl swinged amher arm with immense speed towards a young Shinsei who easily stepped back and moments later her fist went through an empty air. No one was there.
"Huh?" The girl mumbled she could have sworn that there was no way he could dodge the attack but he dodged with relative ease still she didn't stop she kept pressing, sending fast blows that Shinsei easily dodged.
"Weak..." Shinsei let out as he kicked her legs to the side causing her to slant and eventually fall to the floor, "You are a disgrace to the blood!" Shinsei said as he put his hand in her left eye ball and ripped it out removing the reverse eyes.
"Ahhh!" The grirl cried out in pain piqueing the attention of the others, when they saw this they moved away from him except the black haired girl who was always with him.
She didn't say anything and instead enveloped Shinsei in a hug from behind making him feel warm inside despite the cold expression on his face.
He didn't kill the girl because he felt that he had done enough by taking an eye but he would later come to regret it.
The fight went on for weeks and it had reached the third week, Shinsei was now brutally battered but so was the girl behind him. Although she wasn't as bad as Shinsei was because of he had managed to protect her.
While Shinsei was immersed in a fight weakly batteling against a brown haired boy who had one reverse eyes and a normal eyes which was extremely rare, he suddenly heard a voice behind him and when he turned he found a hand piercing through the stomach of the girl that was always with him.
Blood dripped from her mouth as she dropped to the ground after the hand in her stomach was removed, the one eyed girl responsible for the hole in her then stared at Shinsei with a mocking smile just then he felt his body flying some distance away. His opponent had taken the chance to attack him but Shinsei didn't feel pain, no, the only thing he could think about was the scene of the girl falling to the floor over and over then something snapped.
The white pupil in his eyes had reduced drastically leaving his eyes almost pitch black, he had let the instinct of his reverse eyes take over as he stood up from the cold floor and stared at the one eyed girl with a devilish grin plastered on his face like he was looking at a prey making the girl stagger backwards.
From then on Shinsei had gotten the name "Shinigami" and was also called the "smiling demon" and that demon was what was currently standing before Gun threatening to take his eye.
'So he's the one called Shinigami I heard about...' Gun thought to himself of course he had heard about the incident where several number of children where kidnapped but he thought that it was a myth for hundred or more reverse eyes children to be gathered or for even ten to survive yet here was a living proof before him.
Still with this knowledge Gun refused to back down, "Both!" He said a with a nervous smile growing on his face.
