The hand was long and pale, clearly well cared for. It looked like it belonged to someone good-looking.

"You're in rough shape, Miss Himeno."

Slap!

Yuto's hand snapped up, knocking away the Ghost Devil's invisible arm. He held Himeno's in his arms with a faint, mysterious smile on his face.

"Yuto?"

Himeno, turned with effort. Her vision blurred, the world tilting as her strength slipped away. But then she saw him—Yuto, stepping forward in the chaos. The sight of him, unwavering and resolute, made her chest tighten. Her heart, battered and weary, fluttered like a trapped bird.

He flashed a warm, bright smile. "Alright. We will talk later once I get your rest of your limbs back."

He used Soft Compassion and activated a Life Rune to heal her. "Wait here for a moment."

His smile faded as he turned to face the devils.

Yuto wasn't worried about Himeno. The Soft Compassion card would keep her alive with steady healing, and the Life Rune, a relic of the Age of Gods from the Fate world, could restore her. If he could retrieve her limbs from the Ghost Devil, she'd be whole again.

"Roar!"

The Ghost Devil, a bizarre and unsettling figure, let out an angry yell. Yuto had interrupted its attempt to claim its "offering." From its stomach, a mass of pale arms stretched out like twisting snakes, lunging straight at him.

"Back off," Yuto said, his voice cold. He called forth the Sword of Promised Victory and swung it in a blur, faster than the devil could move.

Slash!

Golden magic energy cut through the air, slicing the pale arms cleanly apart. In an instant, dozens of them fell, chopped off.

Boom!

Thick, sticky blood burst out, splattering around like a grim rain.

The Ghost Devil couldn't process it. A human had just severed its arms. Furious, it raised its long, petal-shaped neck and charged at Yuto like a battering ram.

Thud!

The crash echoed like thunder, shaking the air. But as the dust cleared, the Ghost Devil froze. Its attack had been stopped—by a single finger.

Yes, just one finger.

Yuto had blocked its massive charge with ease.

"Hand over Himeno's limbs. I won't ask twice."

Thud!

This time, Yuto struck hard, using nearly 70% of his strength. The blow tore half the Ghost Devil's body apart.

"Roar!"

The devil screamed as its side ripped open, blood and flesh spilling out. Severed arms dropped to the ground, pale and smeared with red.

Overwhelmed by Yuto's power, the Ghost Devil gave up. Shaking, it coughed up Himeno's limbs.

Yuto flicked them toward her. Under the Life Rune's power, the parts reattached, knitting together as if they'd never been taken.

Himeno stood there, dazed, and pinched her cheek.

"Ow! It hurts… but I'm so happy!"

Tears welled up as she gazed at Yuto, her heart overflowing.

Nearby, the Bat Devil watched in terror as Yuto crushed the Ghost Devil. It spread its wings to flee, but Yuto appeared in its path.

"Stay where you are."

"Get away, human!" the Bat Devil shouted, its voice rough with panic. Yuto just smirked and summoned a shower of Noble Phantasms in the air.

"Want to test if you're faster than my attacks?"

"I'm not fighting you!" the Bat Devil yelled. It turned and bolted.

Yuto let out a quiet scoff. He summoned Heracles' massive axe, set it on his bowstring, and aimed at the fleeing devil's back. A brilliant beam of light fired off.

"Nine Lives!"

With a roar like a dragon, nine streams of light blasted out, streaking across the sky.

Boom!

The beams struck the Bat Devil dead-on. Blood sprayed, and an explosion swallowed the creature whole.

When the smoke settled, the ground was scarred with a crater. Scattered across it were several deep red gems.

Yuto landed and picked one up. The moment he touched it, a rush of dark emotions hit him—bloodlust, anger, hatred.

He recognized it instantly: a Killing Stone.

In old legends, these stones carried the grudge of the nine-tailed fox, a demon killed by the famous onmyoji Abe no Seimei. In the Ga-Rei world, they held wild demon power, boosting strength for evil beings and humans alike. They also offered near-endless life and healing until their energy ran dry.

Yuto paused, gripping the stone. The madness tried to take hold, but his A-rank Baptismal Rite pushed it back.

Now he knew why the Bat Devil had been so tough. It had drawn power from the Killing Stone.

Suddenly, a dark flash lit the sky. A giant black eyeball, like a shadowy sun, rose into the night, firing eerie black beams.

"Kuubou's here," Yuto said, as he looked around, his eyes narrowing at the eyeball-shaped evil spirit.

Beside him, Yayoi's odd-colored eyes flared with rage. "Kuubou! Give me back my mom!"

The monster that killed her parents was right in front of her. She couldn't just stand there.

"Leave it to me, Yayoi," Yuto said. The reward for this chapter—a Noble Phantasm upgrade was too tempting to ignore.

He tightened his grip on the Sword of Promised Victory. Behind him, thirteen knightley figures flickered into view.

"King…".

Yuto had no time to respond. His Red Dragon Heart pulsed, linking to the earth's ley lines, flooding the sword with power.

The blade flared to life, its wind barrier dissolving with a sharp hiss, revealing its true form—a radiant edge of dazzling white light that seemed to burn the air itself.

The glow intensified, growing brighter and brighter until it was almost blinding. Shadows stretched long and sharp across the battlefield, the night retreating before the sword's brilliance. A low hum emanated from the blade, rising into a resonant roar that vibrated through the ground. The earth trembled beneath Yuto's feet, pebbles and dust rising into the air as the sheer force of the gathering energy bent the laws of nature.

Yuto raised the sword high above his head, the light now a towering beacon that split the sky. Winds howled around him, whipping his hair and clothes as the power swelled to its breaking point. His eyes narrowed, locking onto Kuubou's monstrous form.

"Excalibur!"

The beam of light tore through the darkness like a divine spear, unstoppable and unrelenting. It slammed into Kuubou, and for a fleeting moment, the evil spirit's silhouette stood stark against the brilliance. Then came the shriek—a piercing wail of agony as the holy energy sliced through its core. The beam didn't falter; it carved clean through, splitting Kuubou in two with surgical precision.

"Roar!!"

The two halves of the giant spirit hung in the air for a heartbeat before the energy detonated outward, disintegrating them into a shower of dark ash. The shockwave hit like a tempest, flattening grass, snapping branches, and sending fierce winds screaming across the forest. A deep, smoking trench scarred the earth where the beam had passed, a testament to the sword's overwhelming might.

The light faded slowly, the blade's glow dimming to a soft shimmer in Yuto's hands. He exhaled, his breath ragged, the weight of channeling such power settling into his frame.

High above, Yomi stared in awe. "That strength… no wonder he beat Gojo Satoru. He could take down a city by himself."
