Chapter 34: The Enthusiastic Girl
Star Luo Empire, Zhu Residence.
"You're saying that just when you were about to succeed, that person appeared?!" Zhu Zhuyun's expression remained indifferent, making it impossible to tell her emotions.
"Yes."
The scar faced Soul Sage looked terrified. "Moreover, I suspect that person had already been secretly watching Second Miss for a while, but simply never revealed himself."
After all, if someone found out they were destined to take on a disciple in the future, it was natural to be curious and secretly observe them.
Their attack had come too late. They hadn't managed to kill Zhu Zhuqing before he found her.
Now that future master and disciple had met, killing her was impossible.
Zhu Zhuyun understood this perfectly.
She only blamed her subordinates for being unlucky if they had found Zhu Zhuqing sooner, they could have ended this before it even started.
"It seems fate is determined to ruin me."
She exhaled slowly, suppressing her rage, and waved her hand. "Leave."
The scar faced Soul Sage bowed quickly and retreated.
As soon as he was gone
CRASH!
Inside the previously quiet room, the sound of smashing filled the air.
Clearly, someone was throwing a fit.
From now on, Zhu Zhuyun would live in constant fear
Dreading the day when the sister she had tormented would rise to power and come for revenge.
The next morning.
After spending the night at an inn, Zhu Zhuqing calmed her emotions, then left Soto City through the south gate.
Her destination: Shrek Academy.
She didn't know much about this academy, only that Dai Mubai was studying there.
Originally, she had some hope thinking that this academy must be extraordinary.
But after seeing Dai Mubai drowning himself in debauchery, she seriously questioned its credibility.
Was this place even worthy of being called an academy?
She followed the southward road, passing through vast farmlands.
Soto City was known as Balak Kingdom's grain capital, and the endless golden fields of crops proved why.
But aside from farmlands
There was nothing else.
No grand buildings.
No academy gates.
Not even a hint of where the academy was.
Zhu Zhuqing's brows furrowed.
According to the address, she should have seen Shrek Academy by now.
But there was nothing.
She kept walking.
Then
In the distance, she finally spotted something.
A village?
Not an academy, but a village?
She hesitated.
"Maybe I should ask the villagers where Shrek Academy is."
With that decision made, she quickened her pace.
As she approached, she estimated that the village had around a hundred households.
A wooden fence surrounded the area, probably to keep wild beasts away.
At the entrance, a crowd had gathered.
Mostly young boys and girls around twelve or thirteen years old with their parents by their sides.
At the village entrance, an old man sat behind a wooden table, looking like he was registering people.
But none of this mattered
Because Zhu Zhuqing's attention was entirely focused on one thing.
Above the village gate
A worn out wooden sign hung loosely.
On it, five characters were engraved:
"Shrek Academy."
Next to the name, there was a green emblem
A deformed humanoid monster's head.
The same emblem was pinned to the old man's chest likely the academy's badge.
Zhu Zhuqing's mind went blank.
She had expected nothing from this academy
But never in her wildest dreams did she think it would be this bad.
This… this rundown village… was Shrek Academy?!
Her head spun.
"No… this can't be real…"
Even if she had lost faith in Dai Mubai
Even if she had doubted the academy's quality
She hadn't expected this level of absurdity.
"This place actually calls itself an academy?"
She was still processing the shock when
A soft voice spoke behind her.
"Hello…"
The voice was gentle, refined, and warm like a well mannered noble lady.
Zhu Zhuqing snapped out of her daze.
Her expression quickly returned to its usual cold indifference
But this time, there was an extra layer of ice.
She turned around.
The girl standing before her wore a long blue green dress, her chestnut brown hair neatly braided.
A pair of delicate pigtails framed her forehead, holding her soft bangs in place.
Her face was smooth and fair, with a faint rosy glow.
Her large, sapphire blue eyes were framed by long lashes, making them look bright and lively.
She radiated a refreshing, elegant charm.
Zhu Zhuqing recognized her instantly.
Though she looked slightly younger, there was no mistaking her.
This was Ning Rongrong
Her future teammate.
Her future friend.
Her future battle partner in the Soul Arena.
"Ah! It really is you!"
Ning Rongrong's face lit up with joy.
She beamed, her tone friendly and familiar.
"Hi! I'm Ning Rongrong! I hope we can be friends. What's your name?"
Zhu Zhuqing hesitated.
The enthusiasm of this cheerful girl was overwhelming.
But
She remembered the future video.
She knew that in the original timeline, she and Ning Rongrong had become close friends.
So… it made sense for Ning Rongrong to befriend her now.
With that in mind, she didn't refuse.
"Zhu Zhuqing."
She spoke coolly, her tone calm and detached.
After a brief pause, she added
"Are you also here to enroll at Shrek?"
"Yes! What a coincidence!" Ning Rongrong laughed happily.
"That means we might become classmates! Maybe that's why we ended up teaming up in the future."
Zhu Zhuqing nodded.
But inwardly
She felt a little overwhelmed by Ning Rongrong's relentless enthusiasm.
She wasn't used to people being this friendly.
At the same time
Ning Rongrong was recalling her father's instructions before she left home.
"If you meet your Brother Ye Cheng, make sure you get on his good side!"
That…
was the real reason for her enthusiasm.
