Chapter 18 - Part 18 – Ujian Terakhir

Fai & Isa: Love in the Fantasy World

Part 18 – The Final Trial

The enormous white cat towered over them, its fiery fur crackling in the dim light. Every step it took sent tremors through the ground, and its glowing red eyes burned with an eerie intelligence. Unlike the shadow creatures they had just fought, this was no mere monster.

This was the true test.

Fai and Isa stood side by side, their glowing weapons in hand. The air between them and the cat shimmered with tension, as if the world itself was holding its breath.

Then, without warning, the cat leapt.

It moved with terrifying speed despite its size. Fai barely had time to raise his sword before a massive claw came slashing down at him. He blocked the attack, but the force sent him skidding backward, his feet dragging deep into the dirt.

Isa rolled to the side, dodging another swipe, then fired an arrow straight at the cat's face. The golden projectile shot through the air, but the cat tilted its head slightly, and the arrow barely grazed its fur before disintegrating.

Isa's eyes widened. "It's… faster than before."

Fai gritted his teeth, adjusting his stance. "And stronger."

The cat let out a low growl, then opened its mouth—suddenly, a burst of white fire shot toward them.

"Move!" Fai shouted.

They dove in opposite directions as the flames scorched the ground between them, leaving behind a deep, smoldering crater. The heat was intense, even from a distance.

Isa quickly pulled another arrow, aiming for the cat's chest. This time, she focused all her energy into it, making the light pulse brighter. She released the shot—

The cat vanished.

Isa gasped. "What—?"

A shadow loomed over her. The cat had reappeared right above her, its massive claw descending like a comet.

Fai's heart stopped.

"Isa!"

Acting purely on instinct, he lunged forward, swinging his glowing blade. A wave of blue energy erupted from the sword, colliding with the cat mid-air and knocking it back before it could strike Isa.

Isa scrambled to her feet, her breath uneven. "That was too close."

Fai ran to her side. "We need a plan. We're not going to win just by attacking blindly."

The cat slowly rose, shaking off the attack as if it had barely been an inconvenience. Its eyes studied them, unblinking, unreadable.

Then, it spoke.

"You fight well. But do you truly understand what you are fighting for?"

Fai and Isa froze.

Isa clenched her fists. "Of course we do! We're fighting for our world!"

The cat tilted its head. "Your world? Then tell me—what is this world, truly?"

Fai hesitated. He thought he understood. This world was born from their emotions, from their love. But was that all?

The cat's gaze sharpened. "If you do not understand your own creation… how can you protect it?"

Suddenly, the ground beneath them trembled violently. Cracks spread across the earth, and the sky above rippled as if the entire world was coming undone.

Isa grabbed Fai's arm, her eyes filled with worry. "Fai… I think this world is collapsing."

Fai's mind raced. The cat wasn't just testing their strength—it was testing their understanding.

This world wasn't just built on their love. It was built on their connection, their belief in each other, and their resolve to face hardships together.

Fai looked at Isa and took a deep breath. "Isa… do you trust me?"

Isa met his gaze without hesitation. "Always."

He turned back to the cat, gripping his sword. "This world isn't just ours. It exists because of us. As long as we believe in it, it will never break."

Isa raised her bow beside him. "And we will fight for it—together."

The cat stared at them for a long moment. Then, for the first time… it smiled.

The flames around its body flickered, dimming slightly. The sky above them stabilized, and the cracks in the ground stopped spreading.

"Good," the cat said, its voice quieter now. "Then show me the strength of your resolve."

With that, it leapt forward once more, and the battle resumed—this time, not just to prove their worth, but to protect the world they had built together.
