Chapter 103 - Chapter 103 The Sapling of The God Tree

Jiraiya chuckled helplessly and gestured for Tobito to continue.

Tobito said, "If things had just stayed like that, the Ninja World would have undoubtedly developed in a perfect direction, because the nature of our world is perfection... sorry, I got a bit off track."

"However... not long after the village was founded, the invasion of the Otsutsuki shattered everything."

At this point, Tobito angrily slammed the table. Fortunately, Yamato's sturdy craftsmanship prevented it from breaking.

"Calm down and speak properly. Don't take your anger out on the table."

Yuto casually complained, continuing to listen.

Meanwhile, Jiraiya and Kakashi were visibly curious about this new term they had never heard before.

"Otsutsuki? What's that?"

Tobito explained, "You can think of them as a kind of alien race. They possess a completely different kind of Chakra... or rather, they are more like the source of Chakra."

"As for the noble Kekkei Genkai in the Ninja World, such as the Sharingan and Byakugan... they all originate from this alien race."

Tobito spoke calmly, though there was still a hint of hatred in his tone when mentioning the Otsutsuki.

Compared to the stunned expressions on Jiraiya and Kakashi's faces, he seemed much more composed.

"W-what? So the legendary stories are actually true?"

Jiraiya's expression was exaggerated, and Kakashi glanced at him. "Legendary stories? The Rabbit Goddess!"

As a writer, though primarily of adult novels, Jiraiya's literary foundation was solid. After all, he had once written a serious novel, even if it didn't sell well.

Legend had it that the Rabbit Goddess descended from the moon, ended the centuries-long wars on this world, and bestowed the power of Chakra upon humanity, which gradually gave rise to the unique profession of 'Ninja.'

As for the authenticity of such a fairy-tale-like legend, no one could be sure. After all, in an era without reliable recording methods, the passage of over a thousand years had diluted the truth of the story.

However, according to this 'visitor from another world,' the story of the Rabbit Goddess might very well be true.

This left Jiraiya and Kakashi feeling as if their worldview had been shaken. They were both very familiar with Chakra and could easily write thousands of words on how to use it.

But as for where Chakra came from... the answer they were now getting was that it came from aliens. That was... mind-blowing to say the least.

However, when both of them looked at Yuto, they noticed that he seemed completely unfazed by this information, which made them even more convinced of the story's authenticity.

Seeing Jiraiya and Kakashi's reactions, Tobito also became more certain that this world had not yet been invaded by the Otsutsuki.

Tobito continued, "You must know about the nine Tailed Beasts, right? From the One-Tail to the Nine-Tails..."

Jiraiya nodded, as this wasn't exactly a secret among Ninjas.

"Good. What if I told you that there's also a Ten-Tails in this world? What would you think?"

Seeing the shocked expressions on Jiraiya and Kakashi's faces, Tobito couldn't help but feel a sense of pride, even though he was technically a captive at the moment.

However, his companion Kakato scolded him angrily, "Tobito, you're talking too much!"

"Ten-Tails?!"

Upon hearing this bombshell, Jiraiya's body jolted, and he leaned forward unconsciously, completely unable to control his astonishment.

After realizing his own reaction, Jiraiya didn't immediately adjust his posture because the news of the 'Ten-Tails' was too shocking.

He first considered whether there was any possibility that Tobito was lying, but it seemed unlikely.

'Each of the Tailed Beasts, from the One-Tail to the Nine-Tails, was a weapon of mass destruction. So, what about this Ten-Tails he mentioned?'

"Is the Ten-Tails a Tailed Beast with ten tails? Where is it?" Jiraiya quickly pressed for more information.

But under Kakato's fierce glare, Tobito hesitated and then gave an apologetic look.

Jiraiya also showed a disappointed expression and turned to Yuto.

He seemed to be waiting to see how Yuto would decide the next course of action… whether to continue the interrogation or do something else?

Seeing Jiraiya's gaze, Yuto calmly said, "The so-called Ten-Tails is the combined form of the One-Tail to the Nine-Tails. It is both the seedling of the God Tree and the origin of Chakra."

Yuto's answer was unexpected to Jiraiya, but it made sense upon reflection.

Jiraiya carefully considered Yuto's words, while Kakato and Tobito were visibly startled.

"The God Tree? How do you know about the God Tree?"

At this point, Kakato couldn't hold back any longer and asked. After all, the secret of the God Tree was something he had only learned from the higher-ups just before embarking on his journey to this dimension.

Unlike Kakashi in this world, Kakato didn't hold such a prominent reputation or status in his own Ninja World.

In their world, there were many other talented individuals in their prime, such as Namikaze Minasi and Hatake Sakuta, who were shining brightly.

Yuto didn't answer Kakato's question directly. Instead, he countered with a question of his own: "Then here's the question… if the Ten-Tails is a creation of the Otsutsuki, why are you crossing dimensions to other Ninja Worlds to collect the Tailed Beasts?"

Since the secret of the Ten-Tails had already been revealed, there was no point in hiding the reason for their interdimensional travels.

Kakato thought for a moment and then explained, "As you said, sir, the Ten-Tails is the seedling of the God Tree. Under certain conditions, the seedling can grow into the God Tree and bear fruit."

"But during its seedling stage, it can also be protected and used to continuously strengthen the world's command."

"Take our world's command, perfection, as an example. Having more God Tree's seedlings allows our Ninja World to become even more perfect. The potential of every Ninja can be raised, enabling us to effectively counter the Otsutsuki invasion..."

Kakato revealed a lot of information in one breath, which finally explained why they were crossing dimensions to collect Tailed Beasts from other Ninja Worlds.

Jiraiya, visibly distressed, said, "But what about the Ninja Worlds you've stripped of their tailed beasts? Are they just left to be slaughtered by the Otsutsuki?"

Kakato opened his mouth and, quoting the higher-ups, replied, "Without the Tailed Beasts, those worlds no longer have to worry about the Otsutsuki's arrival or threat. Moreover... the Otsutsuki will be dealt with by our world, which has strengthened its command. There's nothing wrong with that."

Jiraiya was left speechless. The logic was clear, and he didn't know how to refute it.

But there was still one argument that could be made.

Kakashi, who had been silent until now, quietly spoke up: "Then... why can't our Ninja World be the one to strengthen its directive and resist the so-called Otsutsuki?"
