Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Phenomenal Evil Rasengan

Looking at the neatly skinned wolf pelts, it was undeniable—Ryouji Takeuchi was an experienced hunter. His skill in skinning was flawless, precise, and devoid of any unnecessary movements.

Even the skinned wolves themselves weren't wasted. They were propped up beside two roaring campfires, roasting slowly. Even if they couldn't finish them all in one sitting, Veigar planned to pack the rest as rations.

After a period of busyness, a weary Ryouji Takeuchi retreated to the tent for rest, leaving Veigar and Kakashi Hatake alone by the fire.

Breaking the silence, Kakashi turned to Veigar and asked, "Veigar, that green light just now?"

Veigar nodded and replied, "I'm not exactly sure myself."

"When I took down that alpha wolf, the green light appeared not far from me. At that moment, I felt as if my entire body was frozen in place—I couldn't move at all."

"The dust on me? That was from when I collapsed to the ground."

"I was worried it might be dangerous, and since you were calling me, I didn't stop to investigate further."

There was no way Veigar would reveal that the mysterious green light was connected to him. His Phenomenal Evil Power and the fact that he was a transmigrant were his greatest secrets.

Whether Kakashi believed him or not was uncertain, but as long as Veigar convinced himself, that was enough.

Kakashi stared at him for a moment before nodding. "When facing an unknown danger, it's wise to remain cautious and alert."

Probing into another person's secrets was a serious taboo. Since Veigar had spoken, Kakashi chose to trust his comrade without further questioning.

Veigar, seeing this, nodded in return. "Yeah."

"Kakashi, you should get some rest. I'll take over the night watch."

Kakashi responded, "Alright. But be careful."

He stood up, his tone serious.

Veigar grinned. "Don't worry! I'll be on guard."

As Kakashi turned and disappeared into the tent, the flickering firelight cast long shadows. Soon, the only sounds were the quiet sizzle of roasting wolf meat and the crackling of the flames.

Veigar closed his eyes gently. Almost immediately, he "saw" it again—the Phenomenal Evil Power emblem, floating before him like a holographic projection.

He decided to experiment. For the first time, he willed the Phenomenal Evil Power emblem to move.

But it didn't budge. It was as if it were deeply rooted within him, immovable.

Opening his eyes, Veigar frowned. Am I missing something?

Then, he tried again—this time, forming a Rasengan in his right palm.

In that instant, a strange sensation washed over him. It felt as though he could finally manipulate the Phenomenal Evil Power emblem.

With a mere thought, he willed it to shift—and this time, it responded! The emblem moved, appearing within the Rasengan itself.

What the…?

Veigar's eyes widened. Even without closing them, he could sense it—his core Phenomenal Evil Power emblem remained intact within him, while the one inside the Rasengan felt like a projection, a twin linked to the original.

As dawn broke, after hours of testing, Veigar had a basic understanding of what had happened. Despite his exhaustion, his small eyes gleamed with excitement.

This transformation in his Phenomenal Evil Power was a blessing. He also now understood why the alpha wolf's Life Essence had vanished upon its death.

By channeling a fragment of the Phenomenal Evil Power emblem into a Rasengan, he had created a new technique.

He named it—Phenomenal Evil Rasengan.

Furthermore, he theorized that any creature slain by this Phenomenal Evil Rasengan wouldn't just die—their Life Essence, which normally dissipated upon death and could only be absorbed by direct touch, would be instantly devoured.

That was likely why the alpha wolf's Life Essence had disappeared.

And sure enough, Veigar noticed that his chakra reserves had increased—just a tiny bit.

If his theory was correct, a simple test would confirm it.

...

By morning, Kakashi and Ryouji Takeuchi had awakened. The three of them packed up camp, preparing to continue their journey.

As they gathered for breakfast, Ryouji Takeuchi was utterly stunned by Veigar's monstrous appetite.

It was terrifying.

Veigar's small body seemed like an endless void, devouring an entire wolf's worth of meat without feeling full.

The situation puzzled Veigar as well. He felt like a bottomless pit, able to consume and digest unlimited food.

Yet, strangely enough, in the past week, he had rarely felt hunger. Even after going half a day without eating, he barely noticed.

Two days later, Veigar and Kakashi finally escorted Ryouji Takeuchi to their destination—Yamago Village.

By dusk, they could see smoke rising from chimneys in the village. The scent of home-cooked meals filled the air, and Ryouji Takeuchi instinctively quickened his pace, eager to return home.

As they neared the village entrance, Veigar and Kakashi immediately noticed a familiar figure waiting for them—Minato Namikaze.

Without hesitation, both of them greeted in unison, "Minato-sensei!"

Ryouji Takeuchi also recognized Minato and quickly approached him with gratitude. "Lord Minato, thank you for solving our village's water crisis."

Minato waved his hand dismissively, smiling. "Mr. Takeuchi, I was just doing my duty. No need to thank me."

Then, Minato turned to Veigar and Kakashi. "Did anything happen along the way?"

Kakashi nodded. "Everything went smoothly. No danger encountered."
