Chapter 3 - Strange behaviour

When the nurse looked at the girl, she saw that she had regained consciousness. She asked very gently and politely, "Hello, ma'am. How are you feeling now? Should I call the doctor?"

The girl looked at the nurse and stared at her for a while. Then, with innocence, she shook her head in denial and softly said, "I need to go to the washroom."

Hearing this, the nurse said "Okay" and helped her get up. The girl went to the washroom. Meanwhile, the nurse called Antonio to inform him that the girl had regained consciousness. Antonio conveyed this to Leonardo, but Leonardo didn't tell anyone else because he knew that his mother was feeling overly affectionate toward that girl. He didn't want this because she was his enemy's choice and, on top of that, a very weak girl—something Leonardo disliked.

Carlo had a girlfriend named Sophie. He loved her very much and even wanted to marry her. Sophie also wanted the same—mainly because of his wealth. She was attracted to him, and she also enjoyed showing off her boyfriend to her friends. Carlo never denied her anything and always took great care of her. In a way, he even ignored her wrongdoings.

One day, they were having lunch at a restaurant. Carlo had ordered all the dishes of Sophie's preference. They were sitting in a private room, enjoying their meal peacefully. In between, they were also chatting.

Carlo said, "In two days, it's my brother's birthday. So, I want to introduce you to my family that day, especially my parents."

Hearing this, Sophie became very excited. She said, "Wow! That's great. I'm also very excited to meet them."

Then, pretending to be a little nervous, she said, "Carlo, will they like me? What if they don't?"

Carlo lovingly reassured her, "Don't worry, baby. My parents are very sweet. They will definitely like you."

His words made Sophie happy. They finished their lunch, went for a walk, did some shopping, and later, Carlo dropped Sophie home in his luxurious branded car.

Sophie entered her house carrying several shopping bags and placed them on the sofa in the hall. She lay down on them, took a deep breath of exhaustion, and asked a servant for water. The servant brought her water, which she drank before handing the glass back and asking, "Where are Mom and Dad?"

The servant replied, "Sir is not home; he might have gone to his company. Madam has gone to a kitty party with her friends."

Sophie said "Okay" and asked the servant to take all the shopping bags to her room. She then went to her room, freshened up, and took a nap.

At Corsini Mansion

Marco was still lost in Leonardo's words. He found it hard to believe that the girl was carrying Rocco's child because years ago, Rocco had met with a major accident that left him incapable of fathering a child. Marco had learned this from a highly trusted informant working at the hospital.

Leonardo was unaware of this fact because he had not been involved in such matters at that time.

Maria approached Marco and called him.

Even after calling him, Marco didn't respond. So, she went closer, placed her hands on his shoulders, and called him again. Only then did he snap out of his thoughts, turn to her, and ask, "What happened, wifey? Do you need something?"

Maria looked at him and said, "No, I don't need anything. But where were you lost? I called you, but you didn't respond."

Marco replied, "I was just thinking about something. Forget it. Tell me, has that girl regained consciousness? Do one thing—go and find out about her. Try to learn whose child she is carrying."

Maria gave him a confused look and said, "But why do you care about her?"

Marco ignored her question. He kept insisting that she approach the girl kindly and find out more about her and the baby. Eventually, Maria, annoyed by his persistence, agreed.

Marco smiled, hugged her, and said, "Thank you so much, wifey. You are very lucky for me. I love you."

Maria hugged him back. Actually, their marriage had happened under very strange circumstances. Maria was a very successful businesswoman who had started her own business from scratch . Marco's father handed his business whether it was legal or illigal to Marco. In his adulthood, Marco was a strict and dominating man. Maria and he met each other at a business party hosted by one of Marco's friend. At that time, Marco saw Maria first time and fell in love with her at first sight. Maria was so determined for her growing business. She rejected Marco's praposal when he confaced.

Despite of his rejection,Marco didn't took any revenge. He waited for her and also helped to achieve her goals. Marco's efforts made Maria also fell for him.

Leonardo's Mansion

That girl was watching outside continuously. Nurse was also confused about her. She was a female guard of Leonardo's gang. She asked her very politely "mam, should I bring something for you to eat?"

The girl distracted from his thoughts. She turned towards her and moved her head in denial. She didn't say anything and came to the bed and she leaned her head against the headrest of the bed and sat down.

Maria nocked the door.Nurse saw her and respectfully invited to come in. She saw the girl and sat beside her on the bed.Maria gently caressed her head with love.

She asked her " what your name child?"

The girl looked at her and said calmly "Mia"

Maria smiled and said " waw! Very beautiful name. Do you want to eat something?"

Mia didn't say anything and turned her head towards the window. Maria was so worried about her.

"I know , Leo shouldn't have brought you here like this.I request you to stay here comfortably. He will leave you at your home soon,ok?"

Mia didn't give response to Maria. Maria disappointed at her reaction and left her alone.
