The city was in chaos as the clock hit midnight, and none who were awake could believe what had happened in the blink of an eye. And those who were would arise in the morning and soon wake up with terrible news.
Buildings were razed and in flames, and stores were pillaged and pried open. It was fine a second ago in their thoughts, yet much time had passed without them knowing.
Those who were inside their cars are now standing in the middle of the road, watching their vehicles wrecked and clumped together with the others as if they had crashed into them. Although their heart were at ease as they knew they were alive, their minds weren't, as damage to their properties was beyond their pockets.
It was a phenomenon not even the higher authorities could explain. Something had happened, yet there was no other evidence aside from the markings of attack from some entities being visible on every corner of the city. Not even the security footage could take anything, leaving all the renowned scientists with nothing but hypotheses and theories. But among all theories, one stood above all.
A time dilation.
A scenario happening without humanity's knowledge, as time passes differently in the same space. Some experts theorize that a week or maybe a month has passed. None of them could prove it as the current technology isn't capable of such anomaly detection.
But in reality, only a day had passed.
A very fricking and excruciating 24 hours of nothing but dragging my butt to safety and surviving every hellish moment of that day.
