Chapter 128 - chapter 127

Hou sat there, absorbing the Millennium Volcanic Absorbing Lotus for an excruciating twelve hours. The Lotus constantly let out heat laws, which meant that if Hou stopped absorbing the laws he would get burnt.

In order to stay safe, Hou maintained concentration, slowly cultivating and absorbing the laws with meditation. Each section of a law he absorbed burned through Hou's body.

It attached to his hand where he held the lotus, then he used me talking energy to wrap it and absorb it into the spirit stone.

If his mental energy faltered for even a moment, the heat laws would burn his insides. He needed to carefully wrap the law in mental energy while absorbing it, only then would it not burn.

However, he needed to do this motion continuously for hours on end. Every time he got distracted with thoughts or boredom his mental energy would deviate and the laws would sting. By hour six, Hou's palms blistered.

By hour nine, his mental energy flickered and almost ran out, only hanging on by it's slow regeneration. This only exacerbated Hou's burns as his mental energy could not contain the laws as effectively.

This was a much harder thing to do than the other times he had meditated. These heat laws were extremely strong and in much higher amounts than anything he did before.

Even after twelve hours he could feel that the Millennium Volcanic Absorbing Lotus was still full with laws, he had not absorbed a majority yet.

Hou was starting to understand why some people meditated and cultivated for weeks, months or even years. Suddenly Hou felt the heat laws pressed into his hands stop,

"You may stop now," Mo Huai picked up the Millennium Volcanic Absorbing Lotus from Hou's hand, freeing him from needing to cultivate.

Hou opened is eyes and stretched. He felt his neck and back crack while stretching, he yawned and spoke,

"How long was....*yawn*...that?"

"About twelve hours, very good. I know this must've been tough, your mental energy is probably exhausted already. Just rest now, don't think too much, sleep..."

Hou heard that he could sleep and he let go, his consciousness fading. He fell asleep. His fingers trembled, the skin raw from clutching the lotus and his uneven absorption of the heat.

Hou had been cultivating for twelve whole hours, all throughout using mental energy, he could barely stay awake

Mo Huai picked Hou up and placed him under his covers,

'Well done...' He smiled and then sat in the middle of the floor in the room. As Hou slept, Mo Huai would turn his mind to greater goals, ones he'd waited centuries to claim.

Mo Huai was always maintaining different techniques around the Nine Clouds Sovereign Sect. He was an elder and he was always doing more than just what his body was doing.

Throughout the sect, he had different duties and tasks he was required to do while moving. Since he did not need to do anything while Hou was asleep, he would focus on his personal activities.

Especially the Sealed Solar Tomb, he had been maintaining it all this time, but now he did not need to anymore. After Hou took the final spirits, he could free the continent sized land and take his benefits.

This was one of the reasons Mo Huai was seen as the weakest Elder, not just his power but his domain. Mo Huai's land did not have a designated name yet as it was completely undeveloped.

Almost all of Mo Huai's domain was contained within the Sealed Solar Tomb, meaning that he could not develop his land and gain a populace.

Now that he and Hou had taken all the spirits, he looked into unsealing the tomb. The tomb was originally sealed by Golden Crow Immortal and only with some tricks, from the help of Huan Die, he had taken control over it.

He had set up the system that Hou grew up in, the qi as a way to control all the people inside. The oppressive miasma qi that Mo Huai used in large quantities.

Just one experienced master of mental energy could completely stop qi, it was strong by itself but weak against others. However, in Sealed Solar Tomb, there should have been no one to challenge him. He used qi to force those inside to help him locate the spirits, ultimately gaining all but a few.

Little did he know when he set up that system of qi that Hou would accept an inheritance and take the few final spirits. Now that Hou was his disciple, Mo Huai felt it was only fair to pay respects to the people his disciple lived with.

he did not need to control Sealed Solar Tomb anymore. He could open it up and develop the people inside and bring in outsiders, he could start his development.

This was the first thing he would do that night while Hou was asleep. The reason for Hou's hidden hatred, the control over 'his' people, would be completely dismantled.

Mo Huai had a huge amount of power stored within the tomb. He had left thousands of spirits in Sealed Solar Tomb, and now they all returned to their owner.

The spirits all shot of the tomb, which acted as a soul carrying the souls for Mo Huai, bursting out into the physical world. As they left the tomb, they were not in a soul and out of the tomb, therefore they became subject to the world's new rules made by Yao Tian. They shattered and became laws which were instantly absorbed by Mo Huai.

Mo Huai observed the land, keeping it sealed until he was back for real, for now he needed all these laws to show to Sect Leader.

What Mo Huai's plan was to show that his control over Sealed Solar Tomb was successful, instantly becoming not the weakest, but one of the strongest Elders!

Suddenly inside Sealed Solar Tomb, the residents, including Hamar and Arm, saw the miasma recede. The purple fog which showed their oppression by what they saw as a god, disappeared.

Before their eyes, the world changed. The miasma receded, all those monsters given powers by Mo Huai were released. The whole ecosystem of the Sealed Solar Tomb had changed, the land became pure and uncorrupted. Sunshine, real sunshine not sunlight qi, shed down from the sky with no obstruction.
