Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: The Emperor’s Velocity - Destination Unknown

Elma's eyes burned with fury, their crimson hue deepening as a low growl rumbled in her throat. Her golden hair fluttered unnaturally, as if caught in an invisible wind.

Then, to Anran's surprise, the woman, who had always been both beautiful and tempestuous, ripped the leather whip apart with her bare hands.

Clutching the broken whip, Elma glared venomously at the Night Emperor, her voice sharp and piercing. "Even if I don't represent the Morris family, my blood is still Morris blood. Did you think a mere whip could subdue me? As one of our kind, how dare you strike me over a human! Do you not fear the Morris family's retaliation?"

The Night Emperor had never expected a simple whip to defeat her. He'd only intended to teach her a lesson.

"The Morris family? They are insignificant in my eyes," the Night Emperor replied coldly, his voice devoid of warmth.

Elma was stunned. "What… what did you just say?"

Could it be that the Night Emperor was a vampire from outside? Otherwise, why would he dismiss the Morris family with such disdain?

"I said," the Night Emperor sneered, "I couldn't care less about the Morris family, *old woman*."

Old woman? Though Elma appeared to be in her early twenties, she was actually over forty. The insult left her speechless, consumed by a burning desire to tear him apart.

"Elma ** , please calm down," Dennis and Johnson interjected quickly, stepping in to restrain her.

They still hadn't gauged the Night Emperor's strength or identity. If anything happened to Elma on their watch, they'd be held accountable.

"Hey, stop daydreaming and get on!" the Night Emperor barked, his voice tinged with irritation.

By now, he was seated on a sleek silver motorcycle, addressing none other than its owner.

Though it was their first meeting, Anran felt an inexplicable trust in the Night Emperor. After only a brief moment of hesitation, she swung herself onto the bike behind him.

The moment she settled in, the motorcycle, named *Radiant Flash*, shot forward like lightning, barreling down the winding mountain path.

Wolfen, reduced to a mere spectator after the Night Emperor's arrival, could only watch in stunned silence. He seemed to have even forgotten his original purpose for being there.

The bike's sudden acceleration sent Anran lurching forward. The speed was terrifying, and she had no choice but to cling tightly to the Night Emperor's waist to keep from falling off.

The mountain road was pitch black, the bike's headlights untouched. Only the faint moonlight illuminated the path ahead.

Anran's heart raced with fear. She couldn't tell where the cliffs began, where the walls of the mountain ended, or even where the road was. How could the man driving be so sure of his path?

*Radiant Flash* continued to accelerate, faster and faster until it surpassed anything Anran could comprehend. Her mind went blank, overwhelmed by the sheer velocity. She shut her eyes tightly, focusing on the sensation of the wind against her skin and the flow of air around her, as if she had become one with the night sky.

Anran's heart pounded so hard she thought it might burst. Finally, she couldn't hold back any longer and let out an exhilarated scream.

Before she knew it, they had left Cloudspire behind and were now speeding across flat terrain. The bike gradually slowed, but the Night Emperor showed no intention of stopping. Anran had no idea where they were, but one thing was certain—this wasn't the direction of Rosewood's residential district.
