Despite, or maybe because of, his embarrassing retreat, Kade showed up at Felix's doorstep again the very next day in the morning. With several shopping bags and a cake in his hands.
"This is to pay you back for that, uh, scarf," he said, lifting the bags to show them almost as soon as Felix opened the door. "And this is to apologize for touching your stuff without asking first," he pointed at the cake with his chin. "I hope it's to your liking?"
Although he still was convinced he didn't do anything all that wrong - the destruction of that knitted monstrosity was the fox's fault! - Kade knew that his love life was on the line… And on top of that, if he was willing to apologize, that would grant him another opportunity to not only bother Felix, but also shower him with gifts! How could he let such a chance go?
So, he smiled apologetically, pretending that he was ashamed of his earlier behavior.
Even though both of them knew he was not.
