After discussing their next move, Lyra and her friends decided to head home for the day. They were all exhausted from the battle and the emotional toll of Lyra's visions.
As they said their goodbyes, Lyra couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. She was grateful to have her friends by her side, and she knew that together, they could face whatever challenges lay ahead.
The next morning, Lyra woke up feeling refreshed and renewed. She got dressed and headed downstairs to grab some breakfast before heading to school.
As she walked into the kitchen, her mom was already making breakfast. "Hey, sweetie, how are you doing today?" she asked.
Lyra smiled, feeling a sense of normalcy wash over her. "I'm doing okay, Mom. Just a little tired."
Her mom nodded, concern etched on her face. "Well, make sure to take care of yourself today, okay?"
Lyra nodded, taking a bite of her breakfast. She finished eating quickly, grabbed her backpack, and headed out the door to catch the bus.
As she arrived at school, Lyra met up with her friends by their lockers. "Hey, guys, what's up?" she asked.
Kael smiled, leaning against his locker. "Not much, Lyra. Just waiting for the bell to ring."
Elian nodded, checking his phone. "Yeah, and I'm trying to get in touch with Zain. She's running late."
Just then, the bell rang, and the students began to head to their first-period classes.
As Lyra and her friends walked to their class, they noticed a commotion near the entrance. A group of students were gathered around, staring at someone.
Lyra's curiosity got the better of her, and she pushed her way through the crowd to see what was going on.
And that's when she saw him – Phoenix, standing by the entrance, looking every bit the confident and charismatic student he was.
Lyra's eyes widened in surprise. "What is he doing here?" she whispered to Kael.
Kael shrugged, looking just as surprised. "I have no idea, but I think we're about to find out."
The principal's voice came over the intercom, announcing the arrival of a new transfer student – Phoenix.
Lyra's eyes met Phoenix's, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and trepidation. What was Phoenix doing here? And how would this change things?
