Zain's eyes locked on Elian's, her voice barely above a whisper. "Elian, can I tell you something?"
Elian's heart skipped a beat as he nodded, his mind racing with possibilities.
Zain took a deep breath, her words tumbling out in a rush. "I've had feelings for you for a while now. I know it may seem weird, but I just can't help the way I feel."
Elian's eyes widened in surprise, but as he looked into Zain's eyes, he saw the sincerity there. He felt a flutter in his chest, his mind reeling with the implications.
"Zain, I...I don't know what to say," Elian stuttered.
Zain's face fell, but she quickly recovered. "It's okay, Elian. I just needed to tell you. I value our friendship, and I didn't want to keep it inside anymore."
Elian's heart went out to Zain, and he reached out, taking her hand in his. "Zain, you're one of my closest friends, and I care about you deeply. I just need some time to process this."
Zain smiled, her eyes shining with tears. "I understand, Elian. Take all the time you need."
