"I'll be very strict with you."
Professor Lin adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose.
"I heard from Teacher Tang that your English is excellent, and you even know quite a few other languages?"
"That's true."
Professor Lin nodded.
"Good. Most research papers and academic reports are in English, so your English must be up to standard."
"During the first semester of your first year of graduate school, you need to pass all required foundational tests, including the English test."
"Starting from the second year, I won't insist on you coming to the lab every day, but I'll still assign you research tasks and directions."
"If there's anything you don't understand, come ask me. You can arrange the specific timing yourself. There's only one requirement: during your second year, you must publish a sufficient number of papers… and not just quantity for its own sake; I want papers of real quality."
