Derrick's POV
I quickly put on something and dashed out of my room. As usual, two of my personal guards were stationed at the door.
"Where is he?" I questioned.
They respectfully bowed their heads. "He is back in his cell," they responded in unison.
My worry calmed, but I furrowed my brow. Why was he back in his cell? Who took him there?
"Who asked him to leave my room? Is it you two?" I demanded angrily.
The men shook their heads. "No, Alpha… we didn't… he came out on his own and asked to be taken back to his cell."
I frowned at their words, wondering why Nathan would do that. Without saying a word to them, I walked out and made my way to the cell.
Reaching the cell, the guards stationed outside quickly straightened up, clearly startled to see me in person. They bowed low, mumbling hurried greetings, but I brushed past them without a word. Normally, I would've sent someone else if I wanted to see Nathan — I never came here myself.
But something felt off.
