Nathan's POV
"Are you really sure I should come in?" I asked again. I was scared of getting into trouble.
Felix chuckled softly, the sound rich and low, and then he shook his head at me. "You don't need to be scared, Nathan. If Derrick sees you with me and anyone needs to be punished, then it will be me, and that is never going to happen. And aside from that, Derrick is away. He won't be back until midnight… so get in," he instructed.
I furrowed my brow as I stared at him, wondering if I should really believe him, but then I decided to just believe him. So slowly, I walked into the pool.
The water was warm against my skin, and the moment I stepped in, a soft sigh escaped my lips. I didn't realize how tense I'd been until the warmth started to relax my shoulders.
Felix was already waist-deep, his body cutting through the water like it belonged there. He tilted his head, watching me with that quiet intensity that always made my chest feel tight.
