Chapter 1: The Beginning After the End

Tears rolled down a Man's face while remembering his teacher words

> "It's not about certainty. It's about odds. You don't have certainty in anything—not even your own reality. This world might be a simulation, a hallucination, or some alien experiment. But you'll never know for sure. All you can do... is follow the path that gives you the highest odds of being true."

Words that were once philosophical now seemed real. The cold wind stung, but it wasn't enough to numb the ache in his chest. He stood still—body in the present, mind trapped in a collapsing world of thoughts. Something was ending. He could feel it. But something else… had begun.

---

[Scene Shift]

A small enclosure. A dying corner of the world.

Reinhard crouched near a writhing Omnithal—a nutrient-rich, snake-like creature considered food for humans. He dropped a handful of protein pellets into the mud.

The Omnithal hissed softly, eyes dim with hunger. It curled closer to him, almost like a pet, unaware it was supposed to be dinner.

Reinhard's expression didn't change. But guilt flickered in his eyes.

> "You idiot..."

Kael's voice snapped through the silence.

"You're feeding a Omnithal again, aren't you?"

Reinhard turned, not surprised. Because they had fought—endlessly—about the same thing . Reinhard wants to unite all living species in the world , Kael shows the reality check that how it's not possible and they are fighting over this topic for years .

> "Just one more time," Reinhard said quietly.

"That's what you said yesterday."

"And maybe I'll say it tomorrow too."

Kael sighed. The fight would never end. Not with someone like Reinhard.

---

Later that evening, Kael came again—this time with a message, not judgment.

> "The Human Government wants to see you."

Reinhard's brow furrowed. He wasn't important enough to catch the eyes of the government. Unless...

[Scene Shift – Government Outpost]

The dull metallic interior hummed with machinery and surveillance.

As Reinhard and Kael stepped in, a figure emerged from the shadows—sharp eyes, silver hair, and a mind sharper than either.

Marlic. Reinhard's uncle. A man regarded as one of the greatest scientist in the world.

> "There's a mission," Marlic began.

"One only you two can take."

He unfolded a digital screen. On it, a four-legged creature flickered in poor resolution.

The Oryn. The last of its kind, surviving somehow in the outer wastes of Nerokh Zyrr—a hostile kingdom with little mercy and fewer resources.

> "This isn't an order. You're free to refuse," Marlic said.

"But..."

Reinhard had already stepped forward.

"I'll go."

Kael raised an eyebrow.

> "You don't even know what we're walking into."

"Don't need to. If it's the right thing... I walk."

Marlic paused, then added,

> "Nerokh Zyrr Kingdom might retaliate. Your family… they won't be safe in YangPass."

Reinhard stiffened. YangPass was his home. A land where lower-class citizens fought daily for water, air, and dignity.

> "We'll relocate them to Genkai. They'll be protected."

Genkai: the land of nobles.

Kael , Reinhard and Elizabeth entered Nerokh Zyrr .

Kael asked "Reinhard why your sister is joining with us on this mission"

Elizabeth replied "Because I am his sister , I don't want to provide anymore reason"

Kael replies "Just make sure not to cause any problem with your 'family time' crap moments"

Reinhard , Kael and Elizabeth were walking through the forest trail when a small creature came into view. It looked soft and harmless, about the size of a cat, with wide, shiny eyes. Elizabeth noticed it and walked over, smiling.

Elizabeth leaned down and gently kissed the top of its head.

The moment her lips touched it, the creature froze — then suddenly burst into loud, painful sobs. It shook violently, making a sound that didn't even seem natural. People around stared. Some laughed awkwardly, confused.

Reinhard (surprised): "What the hell? Why's it crying like that? It was just a kiss!"

Kael didn't seem shocked. He knelt beside the creature, watching quietly as it cried.

Kael (calmly):

"To us, a kiss is something warm… caring. But to him? That touch might've meant something completely different. Maybe in his body, that kind of contact sets off stress chemicals, makes him feel pain or fear."

Reinhard (frowning):

"But that makes no sense. It didn't look scared before. It looked fine."

Kael (standing up, looking at Reinhard):

"You're judging him based on how you feel, not how he's built. Every creature is wired differently.

What gives us happiness, might give him pain. And what gives us pain, might give him joy.

It all depends on how their biology evolved — or in this case… how it was designed."

Reinhard looked confused.

Kael (continous):

"Let me put it simply. Imagine his mother just died — and you saw him crying like this. You'd feel sorry, right? But he's crying the same way now, over a kiss.

So why don't you feel sorry now? Just because you think it's a silly reason?"

Reinhard stayed quiet.

Kael (softly):

"He was made to feel things this way.

Some species feel joy by helping others. Some feel it by destroying.

But they're all just following the same emotions , only the way of achieving that emotion is different and species have no right over the way it's all decided by their individual biology"

Reinhard asks "But how is crying over a kiss helping him to survive" . Kael replies "It doesn't that's why this species won't survive" .

Leaves Reinhard in silence .

After a moment of silence

Reinhard asked :"But we're humans. At least we can be united ."

Kael replies : "Humans? And what exactly are humans?

We took a set of similar traits and called it a 'species.' But no two beings have ever been 100% the same.

From another perspective—give it a few million years of evolution, a few mutations here and there—and your offspring and mine could be classified as entirely different species. Even though we both classify as humans our offsprings could not be . We all different species originated from one parent , one species , one body called "LUCA" yet now we classify so many different species in this world .

Even now, look around. We call ourselves the same, but our minds, instincts, and emotions… they differ more than we admit.

Unity? Maybe that's just a comforting illusion."
