The warning call had sent a chill down Anna's spine. She and Kaida exchanged a nervous glance, their ears perked up and their senses on high alert.
The pack began to stir, the wolves gathering around Anna and Kaida with worried expressions. Anna knew that she had to stay calm and reassure them.
"What's going on?" one of the wolves asked, a young female named Luna.

Kaida nodded and took off, disappearing into the trees. Anna watched him go, her heart pounding in her chest.
