Iris looked up at the flying Apatura, her wings beautifully flapping, her antennas fixated on the wolf.
Iris's heart wanted to leave her body. She couldn't believe it; it was so fast, yet she could see it all.
Iris saw how just before she was about to receive a fatal blow, Apatura flew to a speed about three-fourths the way of the speed of sound. Iris remembered how Apatura flew close to the ground, her shining blade effortlessly creating a crater to grab and save Iris. As she turned her body, she couldn't evade the attack of the wolf, leading her to cut its fingers at such speed that not even the wolf noticed.
With the howling wolf, Apatura raised herself up while trying not to fly away, then she flew to a tree she found strong enough to resist their attacks and a tree high enough to prevent large predators from hunting the immobile Iris.
Apatura looked down at the surprised Iris, her mouth wide open trying to catch a fly. In a calm and gentle voice, Apatura said, "Iris, just wait; I promise everything is going to be alright."
Apatura placed Iris in the tree before looking back at the wolf with its horn, creating a large black cloud.
Boom!
Aptura covered her eyes, seeing how the cloud exploded; the second she opened her eyes, in her small area, she began to see many shadow wolves appear, all preparing to attack her.
An illusion spell? Apatura let out a sigh before pointing her blade at the wolves, her eyes becoming a darker red, her face showing a sadistic grin.
The wolves simultaneously jump at Apatura; she drops low and cuts their heads; however, the wolves regenerate. Apatura senses two wolves behind her; she quickly turns around, retracting her wings. She extends her wings, causing a strong wind to push the wolves behind her. The wolves in front of her—she, in two steps, cuts down the wolves. With their regeneration, they healed, but not before Apatura reached the cloud barrier.
Boom!
Apatura raises her arm, clenching it before smashing open the cloud. Leaving the shadow, she sees how the wolf has another wolf on its teeth, its lifeless eyes looking at Apatura for revenge.
The wolf, surprised by Apatura's rapid escape, completely swallows the wolf, which prompts its finger to regrow, combined with all its wounds.
Apatura looked down at the three remaining wolves paralyzed in fear, ready to die for their leader.
The wolf, seeing the flying Apatura, prepares its horn, glowing a light blue light.
Zap!
Apatura sees the lightning strike approaching her. The speed surpassed her own, which caused her to get a direct hit; however, she instinctively threw in front of her blade to receive all the damage while receiving the most minimal of damages.
She begins flying to get closer to the wolf, her theory being that if she manages to cut the horn, then the wolf will be as powerless as Iris.
Zap! Zap! Zap!
The wolf's lightning strikes are being evaded faster and faster by Apatura; she has realized the weakness of the lightning.
She hypothesizes that the wolf has to calculate where the lightning will strike before shooting and can't change once that position is decided. To continue testing her hypothesis, she stayed still, and seeing the lighting accumulation on the horn, she positioned her body to appear as if she was going to the left.
Zap!
Apatura didn't move, and the lightning strike did as she expected. Now knowing its patterns, she began flying randomly, moving in unpredictable ways and faking out the now desperate wolf.
Zap! Zap! Zap! Zap! Zap! Zap!
Apatura reached the wolf's horn; she raised her blade, aiming directly for the bottom part of the horn.
Auuuuuu!!!!
The wolf let out a sonic howl, sending Apatura flying back, her wings retracted and extended before hitting the falling trees.
She looks back at Iris shaking on the tree, holding on for life, most of its branches being broken. Iris can only nod as she holds the tree as they both try to balance themselves from the large attack.
Apatura's wings are feeling the attack; they tremble, her antennas losing sensation, distorting her senses. The smell of the wolf's breath caused her antennae to recoil; the sensory system of Apatura received so many signals, causing her to fall.
On the ground, she retracts her form, gasping for air and covering her ears.
Apatura looks up, and seeing the wolf running towards her; she struggles to stand up, her legs wobbling.
The wolf's swiping increased in speed for each attack. For its first ten, Apatura could dodge with little effort; however, after each attack began to increase in speed and potency to the point where her wobbly legs saved her from further damage.
Her shaking head reached a normal level, leaving her capable enough of attacking as the wolf was having fun with Apatura moving strangely.
Apaturas dodging continued; she then saw the perfect opportunity. She sees the paw and gets hit.
Boom!
"Apatura!!" Iris screamed seeing Apatura get a lot of power.
The dust settled, and Iris saw how Apatura managed to cling to the fur of the wolf on its outer right leg.
Apatura creates another blade and begins her rampage, stabbing the wolf's legs.
The wolf looked back with its horn glowing.
Zap!
Expecting this, Apatura created a blade with no rubber handle and inserted the blade deep enough to reach its muscles.
The wolf gets electrocuted with its attack. Seeing this, Apatura positions her body in a jumping motion, jumping and extending her wings to create more speed. She extends her blade, ready to cut the horn of the wolf.
Slash
Thump
Apatura looks back at the horn falling to the ground, creating a small earthquake. She smiled knowing she won.
Auuuuu!!!!
Again! Apatura flies away. Colliding with a tree, causing it to break and fall on top of her.
Were his powers not in his horn!? Why didn't he use that attack before? Apatura raised her wings, causing the tree to stand up, leaving her free.
As the wolf consumes its final pack member, its body begins to radiate a soft gray light. Its horn, now fully restored, emits a dark light around it.
Apatura's eyes narrow as she realizes that the wolf is stronger than before. Its powers are no longer tied to its horn now flowing threw out its body.
"Apatura!" Iris screamed, her voice trembling. "It's... It's not just the horn!! Be careful!!"
Apatura takes a deep breath, her wings extending to their full, emitting deeper colors. "Iris, I am going to go all out!! See carefully how the butterfly movement works!!"
The wolf lets out an earth-shaking roar, its eyes locking onto Apaturas with a predatory glow.
As Apatura begins to move, her steps and blade trace the elegant silhouette of a butterfly in her characteristic pink light.
Iris can only watch in awe and fear, knowing that the fight is far from over and in the realization of how powerful her future enemies will be.
