They should have been here by now. I felt one of Kit's humans fading. "Czar, we should go and find Kit. Staying split up for this long is not the smartest thing move. How are you feeling?" Inertia was in my hand. My sword made of my mother's blood and yaria. Inertia vibrated slightly, itching for the blood of others.
Czar smiled, "Good. Can you sense Kit?"
"Yeah, but something isn't right. Things have been happening way too fast. We are definitely getting toyed with. Now that cops and the military are involved, I think it's safe to say Kitten has murdered James and is using his likeness. This feels like my mother's doing, and yet it isn't. I know we have been thinking about why we were imprisoned, but I never considered the Rabbit was behind this." Inertia vibrated in my hand. I've felt my mother's presence since I moved to this planet. She always feels close. Like she's watching and waiting. Damn her.
Czar stared at me in silence. Out of everyone he despised my mother the most. "Let's get Kit and Santino. It's our fault they are in this mess. We should have gone back to Sanctuary after…"
I shook my head, "We did the best that we could." An idea sparked, "The poison they were giving us... Do you think it was that Rabbit's blood?"
Czar was silent.
I sighed. "That damn prophecy!" Inertia started to glow.
"Let's move. We need to save our daughter."
We walked out onto the streets and silence was all around us. Czar's energy was pulsing. He felt stronger. Hopefully that was a good sign. "Do you think you can fly on your own?"
He smiled, "I can." He blinked and his wings spread. They were beautiful. They spread about five feet in width and ten feet in length and were a sparkling white. He was definitely an angel. I felt his yaria rise and his being started to glow. "The people of this planet must know of our existence. The ease of which Kit was able to share her powers. Something changed while we were held capti…," he was silent as he looked into the distance, "I can see something coming toward us. We must go."
I nodded. I spread my wings. They weren't the glorious white of Czar's but they were adequate. My brown wings stretched and fire emanated from them. As soon as my wings spread, bright lights met Czar and I. The humans of this planet met us with more military resistance. The ones in charge spoke loud and clear, but I didn't care to listen.
Czar's excitement matched mine. "No kill shots, please! At least not on purpose."
"No promises. It's been a long time since I held Inertia and I can tell these humans are gonna piss me off."
Czar shook his head as bullets started to fly and bounce off of us. "Let's end this in 2 minutes. Kit is in trouble. I can sense her again. She must have absorbed more of her yaria."
I nodded and started for the first human I saw.
