Micah walked quickly across campus toward the dorm building, his hands shoved deep in his pockets. The sun was starting to set. Most classes had ended, and students were everywhere. The dormitory buzzed with voices, doors slamming open and shut, footsteps on the stairwell, and low hum of chatter filled the halls.
When Micah reached his floor, he opened the door. His eyes landed on Emile who was standing in front of the mirror, smoothing some kind of moisturizer onto his face with gentle taps. The smell of something floral filled the room.
"Hey," Micah said as he stepped in, kicking off his shoes. "Where are the others?"
Emile didn't glance away from the mirror. "Eddie went to take a shower, Nick is still not back."
Micah nodded and walked to his bed. He dropped his bag down.
"Where were you?" Emile asked, turning slightly, one eyebrow raised as he capped his bottle of lotion.
Micah didn't look up. "Just remembered something I had to do. No one asked about me?"
