BLACK SQUAD — EPISODE 109

Title: "The Red File"

Genre: Thriller | Political Mystery | Crime

Runtime Style: 45–50 minutes (TV-style structure)

Setting: Mumbai, late night to next day

---

COLD OPEN — NIGHT

A dark, poorly-lit apartment in Andheri.

Rain pours outside. A man in his late 40s, Ramesh Tripathi, a mid-level official in the Ministry of Urban Development, nervously records a message on his phone:

> "If anything happens to me, check the red file in my locker. It has the truth about the Malwa Bridge scam... Names, signatures... They will bury everything. I don't trust anyone. Not the cops. Not the media. Only this file can speak now..."

A knock on the door.

He panics.

A shadow moves behind the curtain.

He quickly locks the phone in a drawer, grabs a red folder and hides it under the mattress.

SMASH!

The door bursts open.

A masked intruder charges in. A short scuffle — the man is overpowered.

Moments later, he's hanging from the ceiling fan. Made to look like suicide.

The camera pans to the edge of the mattress… where the red folder is missing.

CUT TO BLACK.

ACT ONE — THE INVESTIGATION BEGINS

Next morning — Crime Scene

Black Squad arrives.

ACP Sulaiman Qazi, Imran Wani, Arjun Rathore, Zoya Khan, SI Shreya, Inspector Sachin, and Dr. R.P. Gupta.

R.P. Gupta:

> "Ligature marks suggest post-mortem hanging. Time of death — 2 a.m. This wasn't suicide."

They find signs of a struggle. A half-burnt page from a red folder in the dustbin. The word "Classified" and a part of a government letterhead is visible.

Imran (scanning the room):

> "There's a drawer here, locked… phone missing."

Arjun:

> "This guy knew someone was coming for him."

Shreya finds a key under the flowerpot. It opens a second locker — but it's empty.

Qazi (grim):

> "Let's find out what he was hiding."

---

ACT TWO — DANGEROUS TIES

Back at HQ:

Imran traces Ramesh Tripathi's recent calls. One number keeps popping up — an ex-journalist turned whistleblower: Kavita Ranade.

They locate Kavita. She's terrified.

> "Ramesh said he had proof. About the Malwa Bridge project. Contractors were faking audit reports. There's even a Minister involved… but he wouldn't tell me who. Said if he dies, I should contact a certain 'Qazi.' That's all I know."

Meanwhile, Arjun and Sachin interview a local tea vendor who spotted a man in a black raincoat leaving Tripathi's flat at 2:15 a.m.

Zoya tracks CCTV — footage is corrupted. Someone has wiped it remotely.

---

ACT THREE — HIGH STAKES AND DEAD ENDS

Internal tensions rise:

The Ministry of Urban Development sends a legal notice barring Black Squad from investigating further, citing "jurisdictional overreach."

Qazi smirks.

> "Since when did the truth need jurisdiction?"

He meets an old political contact off the record, who warns:

> "Back off. You're poking a nest full of cobras. They'll make you the next hanging body."

Despite that, Qazi refuses to step back. He sends Arjun and Shreya undercover as municipal officers to the Malwa Bridge office.

There, Shreya uncovers hidden audit books — showing double billing, forged clearances, and illegal foreign transactions.

But they're ambushed by goons. Intense hand-to-hand combat ensues. Arjun takes a hit to the shoulder but fights off two attackers.

They escape with the books.

---

ACT FOUR — THE TRUTH COMES OUT

R.P. Gupta analyzes the half-burnt page. Through chemical restoration, he reveals:

A signature of Minister Rajeev Naik

An approval for a fake payment worth 300 crores.

Kavita confirms the document is real.

Qazi decides to go public.

The Black Squad leaks everything to the press in a live conference:

> "This isn't just about a bridge. It's about justice, accountability, and the cost of a man's silence. Ramesh Tripathi was murdered — and this government owes the people the truth."

---

ACT FIVE — AFTERMATH

Minister Rajeev Naik resigns within hours.

Three arrests follow.

Kavita visits the Squad HQ.

> "He told me to trust Qazi. I'm glad I did."

Qazi (softly):

> "The ones who choose truth over fear are the real heroes."

In a rare moment, the team sits quietly. Reflecting.

Imran:

> "We don't even know how many more Ramesh Tripathis are out there."

Zoya:

> "But we'll keep finding them. And fighting for them."

Final shot:

Qazi stands by the window, holding the restored red file. Thunder rumbles in the distance.
