Chapter 64 - Episode 64: “Dead Letters”

Black Squad – Episode 64: "Dead Letters"

(The Architect turns the past into a weapon)

---

[Opening Scene – Crime Branch HQ, Early Morning]

Mail arrives. A strange brown envelope sits atop the usual files.

No address. No return name. Just a wax seal with a strange sigil:

A hand holding a mirror.

Murshad opens it slowly. Inside:

A single photo: A 14-year-old boy lying in an alley, eyes open, lifeless.

A note typed on an old typewriter:

"You never closed this file. You just buried it."

---

[Scene 2 – Conference Room]

The team looks stunned.

Zoya (reading case ID):

"This was… 4 years ago. He was caught in a crossfire during a gang bust. We never found who pulled the trigger."

Imran (haunted):

"Qazi kept that file open. Till the day he died."

Murshad pulls up the archived file. The name of the boy:

Samir Qureshi.

Arjun:

"Why this kid now?"

Murshad:

"Because this case broke our belief. And the Architect wants to finish what guilt started."

---

[Flashback – Episode 10 Unseen Case Files]

The gang bust from years ago. Screams. Bullet rain.

The squad raids a drug factory. A child screams in the chaos.

Gunfire.

A single shot—no one knows where it came from.

Samir dies.

Qazi (flashback):

"We fight evil, but tonight... it looked a lot like us."

---

[Scene 3 – Present Day]

The Architect leaves a voice message on an old police frequency.

Architect (distorted voice):

"Guilt is a parasite, Murshad. You buried the case… but the rot stayed."

"Let me help. Tonight, I'll show you what it feels like to relive that night. Same block. Same hour. New child."

---

[Scene 4 – Racing the Clock]

The team scrambles to retrace every detail from that past raid:

Layout of the old block

Surviving witnesses

Old gang members now free

They trace a name: Majid Iqbal — the same gang's ex-leader, now released last month.

Arjun:

"What if the Architect's working with him? Or worse… was part of that gang?"

---

[Scene 5 – Action: The Return to Hell]

The squad raids the exact same building from years ago — now empty, derelict.

Suddenly, voices echo — a live stream begins on multiple screens inside the structure.

A boy is shown tied to a chair, blindfolded.

Time ticking on screen: 00:20:00

Architect (on-screen):

"Let's see if guilt sharpens your aim or blinds it."

---

[Scene 6 – Chaos and Ghosts]

The squad splits:

Zoya disarms motion-triggered traps

Arjun handles a rooftop sniper trying to recreate the crossfire

Imran locates the hidden room where the boy is kept

Murshad finds a wall covered in past Black Squad case photos — some defaced

A trap triggers gas — and hallucinations start.

Murshad sees visions of Qazi. Samir. Himself, years younger.

Qazi (vision):

"Don't chase ghosts. Lead your men."

Murshad snaps out of it.

---

[Scene 7 – The Save]

Imran busts the door down — boy rescued just in time.

Arjun shoots the sniper mid-aim.

Zoya:

"Trap neutralized."

But one last screen lights up:

Architect:

"Bravo. You saved him. Too bad about the next letter…"

Cut to:

A new envelope already on Qazi's old desk.

---

[Final Scene – Black Squad HQ, Late Night]

Murshad holds Samir's file. He closes it. Finally.

But beside him lies the unopened envelope — marked:

"Case #17: Rafiqa – The Forgotten Mother."

Murshad (to himself):

"We close the past… or it closes us."
