Chapter 52 - Episode 52: "The Silent Killer"

Black Squad – Episode 52: "The Silent Killer"

Opening Scene: The First Victim

Location: A Café in Mumbai – 8:45 AM

The morning rush had just begun. Business professionals, college students, and early risers filled the café, sipping on coffee and munching on sandwiches.

A young businessman, Rohan Malhotra (32), sat at a corner table, typing rapidly on his laptop. His cappuccino sat untouched as he focused on his work.

He finally picked up the cup, took a sip—then suddenly froze.

His breathing turned shallow. His fingers trembled as he reached for his throat, gasping for air. His eyes widened in horror as his body went limp. The cup slipped from his hand, shattering on the floor.

Screams erupted as customers rushed back in panic.

Barista (shouting): "Somebody call an ambulance!"

A woman knelt beside Rohan, checking for a pulse. Her face turned pale.

Woman (whispering in shock): "He's dead."

CUT TO BLACK.

Scene 1: The Investigation Begins

Location: Mumbai Crime Branch – 10:15 AM

The Black Squad had been called in.

ACP Sulaiman Qazi stood at the crime board, studying the case file. The café's CCTV footage played on the screen, showing Rohan Malhotra collapsing within seconds of drinking his coffee.

Inspector Imran Wani paced the room, deep in thought.

Imran: "A healthy man drops dead out of nowhere. No signs of struggle. No wounds. No drugs in his system. This doesn't feel like a normal poisoning."

Arjun Rathore, the team's tactical expert, folded his arms.

Arjun: "Any signs of cyanide or other fast-acting poisons?"

Forensic Expert Neha Sharma shook her head.

Neha: "Nothing. We ran tests on the coffee, his stomach contents—everything came back negative for common toxins. It's as if he was poisoned by thin air."

Qazi's eyes narrowed.

Qazi: "This isn't a random case. Someone wanted him dead… and they knew exactly how to do it."

Just then, an officer entered.

Officer: "Sir, we just got another report. Another victim—same symptoms, different location."

Everyone exchanged glances.

A serial killer was on the loose.

---

Scene 2: The Pattern Emerges

Location: Mumbai Forensic Lab – 2:30 PM

The second victim, Maya Desai (29), had died in her apartment. Same symptoms. No signs of struggle. Just… dead.

Neha worked tirelessly, scanning their blood samples. Suddenly, something caught her eye.

Neha: "Wait a second…"

She zoomed in on a microscopic structure in the blood sample. It was faint, almost undetectable.

Neha (excitedly): "There it is! The poison!"

Imran: "What are we looking at?"

Neha pointed at the screen.

Neha: "A rare, synthetic toxin. Almost impossible to detect. It dissolves in the bloodstream within minutes, leaving no trace. It's not just any poison—this is an assassination drug."

Arjun: "So we're not dealing with an ordinary killer. This is a professional."

Qazi: "The question is—who's the next target?"

---

Scene 3: The Next Victim?

Location: Mumbai International Hotel – 7:00 PM

The Black Squad worked fast. They analyzed both victims and found one common link—they had both attended a corporate gala three days ago.

Qazi's gut told him the killer wasn't finished yet.

The team rushed to the hotel, where a similar high-profile event was taking place. Business leaders, celebrities, and politicians mingled, unaware of the silent threat lurking among them.

Arjun (watching from a balcony): "If the killer is here, they could strike at any moment."

Suddenly, Qazi's phone buzzed.

Caller ID: UNKNOWN

He answered cautiously.

Mysterious Voice (distorted): "You're too late, ACP Qazi. The poison is already in play."

Qazi's eyes widened.

Qazi (shouting): "Everyone! Drop your drinks! No one eats or drinks anything!"

The crowd froze. Some people hesitated, but the urgency in Qazi's voice made them comply.

Too late.

A man stumbled, clutching his throat. His skin turned pale.

Arjun: "We need medics, now!"

The Black Squad had just walked into the killer's trap.

---

Scene 4: Unmasking the Killer

Location: Black Squad HQ – Midnight

Despite immediate medical attention, the victim—a political consultant named Jatin Mehra—died within minutes. The poison had done its job.

But the killer had made a mistake.

Neha had managed to isolate the toxin's delivery system—a modified inhaler.

And security footage showed only one person using such a device at all three locations.

Imran (grinning): "Got you."

A name flashed on the screen—Dr. Anirudh Khanna (45), a renowned medical researcher.

He had been present at all three crime scenes.

And he had vanished.

Qazi: "Find him. Now."

---

Final Scene: The Silent Killer Speaks

Location: An Abandoned Warehouse – 2:00 AM

The Black Squad stormed an old warehouse where Dr. Khanna had last been seen.

Inside, they found him sitting at a table, calmly drinking tea.

He smirked as Qazi entered.

Dr. Khanna: "You finally found me, ACP Qazi. Took you long enough."

Qazi: "You killed three people. Why?"

Dr. Khanna leaned forward.

Dr. Khanna: "Because they were corrupt. They destroyed lives for profit. I simply… balanced the scales."

Imran stepped forward, gun raised.

Imran: "You're under arrest, doctor."

Dr. Khanna chuckled.

Dr. Khanna: "Am I?"

He reached into his pocket.

Arjun reacted instantly, tackling him to the ground. A small vial fell from his hand, shattering.

Arjun: "Careful! That could be more poison!"

Khanna smirked one last time.

Dr. Khanna: "You can stop me, but there are others like me. The world needs people who cleanse it from within."

Qazi stared at him coldly.

Qazi: "You're not cleansing anything. You're just a murderer."

The Black Squad had caught the Silent Killer.

But the war against crime was far from over.
