The power of the Primary Lotus lived up to its name.
Compared to Gaara's sand, Yagura's coral defense was even tougher and more resilient.
Even so, the impact of falling from a four-story height, combined with the high-speed rotation of the Primary Lotus, shattered more than eighty percent of Yagura's coral armor.
Though there were no visible external injuries, the immense force transmitted through the coral into his body was undeniably effective.
A wave of dizziness surged through his head, causing Yagura to stagger several steps unsteadily.
Might Guy's effort had not been in vain.
However, using the Lotus technique had placed an unbearable strain on his already wounded body.
Now, Might Guy could barely stand. He could only watch in despair as his opponent approached step by step.
Yagura, still able to move, locked eyes with the horrified Guy. His voice was low and firm.
"Give up. You are not my match."
Surrender? That word didn't exist in Might Guy's vocabulary!
That was fine. Yagura had no intention of ending it so easily, either.
He had deliberately taken a heavy hit. The pain had helped clear his mind.
Yagura stepped closer to Guy, who struggled to lift himself with all his remaining strength, his fingers digging into the floor, leaving white scratch marks.
"Stand up! Get up, damn it!"
Again and again, Guy attempted to rise, only to collapse heavily each time.
But Yagura, with the powerful physique of a Jinchuriki, had already begun recovering from the effects of the Lotus. He stepped forward, his feet pressing into the water-covered floor, sending ripples outward.
"さて↗→ さて→ さて↗↘" (Well then, well then, well then...)
He formed the Water Release hand seals.
The rippling surface of the water began to stir. Waves surged, and from within, tendrils of water snaked forward like venomous serpents slithering through the rainforest, their forked tongues flickering as they advanced upon their prey.
Mukumo, watching from above, leaned against the railing.
"That technique…"
"Mm-hmm." Ringo Ameyuri nodded in acknowledgment.
They recognized it—Yagura's newly developed Water Release capture technique, designed to work in tandem with the Water Prison Jutsu.
It was still incomplete, and its speed was far from optimal.
But against someone in Might Guy's current condition, it was more than enough.
Up until now, Yagura hadn't been fighting seriously. He had just been toying with that green-clad fool.
Now, it was time for the curtain to fall.
Ringo Ameyuri watched the battle unfold below with a grin, revealing a sharp canine tooth.
Even though the technique itself lacked direct lethality, the creeping water tendrils exerted a psychological pressure that was anything but trivial.
Fear—the primal, deep-seated fear of death within all humans.
Faced with the looming threat of demise, Might Guy's survival instincts roared to life. He mustered every ounce of strength to crawl to his feet and staggered in the opposite direction.
He hadn't lost yet!
If he could just buy himself a little more time, his body would recover from the Lotus's backlash!
Not only the Konoha genin, but even shinobi from other villages found themselves holding their breath, mentally shouting:
Watch out!
Seeing his prey attempt to flee, Yagura's water serpents suddenly accelerated.
As Might Guy stumbled forward in a desperate sprint, the water tendrils coiled around his ankle!
Though he reacted swiftly, turning mid-air to slash at the tendrils with a kunai, severing several of them, it was futile.
Like unrelenting chains, the water tendrils surged forward in waves!
His hands, feet, torso, even his head—every part of his body was swiftly bound in an instant.
Yagura came to a halt five steps away from the immobilized Guy, forming more hand seals.
Layer upon layer, walls of water surged upward and then crashed down, converging to form an impenetrable barrier around the helpless Guy, sealing him within.
The Water Prison was complete.
Standing before the cubic sphere of swirling liquid, Yagura gazed at the trapped Might Guy, unable to move within the confines of the prison.
His expression remained unreadable.
"Well, well, well… If I don't finish this now, Jinin-sensei will probably kill me."
But then, recalling what Might Guy could become in the future, Yagura knew he had no reason to spare him.
From the moment this match was arranged, Yagura had already made his decision.
Konoha, you're delivering one of your greatest future warriors straight into my hands.
The threat that Might Guy would pose to Kirigakure in the future would be greater than that of any so-called Five Kage.
Moreover, Konoha would never hand over someone like Might Guy to Kirigakure as part of a peace treaty.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Yagura smiled.
As a Jinchuriki of the Three-Tails, his fate had always been intertwined with that of the beast.
Twenty years from now, even with figures like Mangetsu, Mei Terumi, and Kisame standing by his side, even with his own strength reaching new heights…
Would Obito and the Akatsuki really have the power to kill him and steal both the Three-Tails and the Six-Tails again?
The Ten-Tails would never be summoned.
And so, Might Guy would never grow into the strongest taijutsu master to launch that legendary kick.
Instead, he would become the very threat that Yagura would crush—an obstacle standing in his way.
