Chapter 5 - Entrance Ceremony

"Stop. According to school rules, students are not allowed to fight in public. Do you understand?"

For a moment, the expressions on the two people near the ceremony line showed fear on their faces.

They didn't know why, but they felt that the pressure from a Soul Formation stage cultivator was absurdly overwhelming.

Even that arrogant man reacted the same way as the fanatic woman beside him.

Judging from their expressions, it was clear they knew the pressure from a cultivator above the Nascent Soul stage was impossible for them to withstand.

On the other hand, they understood that they shouldn't disobey Headmaster Ji's orders.

If they dared to, wouldn't they be forced to endure internal mental pressure?

Just look—Headmaster Ji's expression didn't show an ounce of mercy as he stared at them.

Instead, he simply wore a threatening expression toward the two students near the back row.

Anyway, I could clearly feel Headmaster Ji's pressure.

But I didn't care. I knew that it was impossible for his pressure to suppress me.

For a moment, without thinking, I turned to the two people beside me.

Indeed, the two were none other than the arrogant man and the fanatic woman.

'That boy… Who is he? Does he not feel my pressure? If I'm not mistaken, his name is Han Li? Han Li… That name sounds familiar.'

Unexpectedly, Headmaster Ji's expression showed curiosity about my identity.

Suddenly, he remembered something about the Han family name.

'Han… I see. Could he be the son of Han Jiang and Han Xi? If so, it's no wonder he can withstand my pressure,' thought Headmaster Ji. He seemed to know the truth about my parents' identities.

In the past, he had occasionally been involved with my parents' departures.

After all, the fact that my father and mother were influential scientists in this world could not be denied.

Maybe that's why he thought it made sense that I could resist a Soul Formation stage cultivator's pressure?

If he remembered correctly, my parents had developed tools to counter the pressure of high-level cultivators several times.

And now, he assumed they had given me a protective device?

That way, they wouldn't have to worry about me getting hurt.

Within seconds, the atmosphere at the ceremony line returned to normal.

Until suddenly, I heard the panicked voice of a girl.

When I looked, I realized the girl was none other than Sun Xinxin.

"I'm late! I'm so sorry, Uncle Ji! Has the ceremony already ended?"

"Xinxin… Hurry up and get on stage. The students are waiting for you. Don't keep them waiting."

"Of course!"

Without realizing it, I saw Sun Xinxin walk up to the stage.

And within a few seconds, we heard a greeting from her.

"I am Sun Xinxin, the first-year representative. I wish the best for all first-year students!"

"Miss Sun! We love you!"

"So beautiful! Miss Sun! Please give us some pictures!"

Seriously…

Is this for real? I didn't expect both male and female students to start praising Sun Xinxin.

Unfortunately, when I glanced at the crowd around me—

I saw a large group of students standing near the stage, seemingly hoping to get lucky.

Judging from Sun Xinxin's expression, it was clear she was enjoying the praise from the new students.

But so what? I couldn't care less about Sun Xinxin's popularity.

Unfortunately, just as I was wondering whether I should leave the class formation—

I heard a woman scoff, clearly displeased by the students' behavior.

"Pathetic… Don't they know they're being treated like pigs? That b*tch… I want her dead!"

"…"

Just as I was about to ignore the woman's behavior, she suddenly looked at me.

"…" And then, our eyes locked.

From her perspective, did she think I was mocking her?

But judging from my posture, she could tell I was just an ordinary student.

Without hesitation, she suddenly gave me a soft smile.

'Just ignore her… She's no different from that Sun girl. Just chasing fame.'

Clench!

Before I realized it, the woman's body stiffened, as if nothing had happened.

To her, the thought of being ignored by someone was unacceptable.

In truth, this woman knew she was one of the most beautiful girls at Jinshi School.

But because of Sun Xinxin, she hadn't been able to shine in front of the first-years.

At first, she was pleased when I looked at her.

But she didn't expect me to be one of Sun Xinxin's fans—showing no interest in her.

'So arrogant… I need to teach you a lesson!'

stepstepstep

The truth was, I knew this woman had started walking toward me.

And deep down, I knew I couldn't just ignore her.

So once again, I turned my gaze to her.

Though I knew it was too late to stop her from walking up to me—

Sure enough, she was now standing right next to me.

From that alone, I could tell she intended to say something nasty.

And I was right.

"I don't know who you are, but you're an eyesore. Are you one of Sun Xinxin's fans?"

"…"

"No answer? Good… Very good. Arrogant and cold—is that your personality? I knew Sun Xinxin's fans were brainless. And you're clearly one of them."

Without delay, I felt her hand press against my shoulder.

At first, I could tell she wanted to push me down to the ground.

But no matter what she tried, she couldn't move me at all.

Even when she used one hundred percent of her Core Formation stage strength, she still couldn't push me down.

Crack!

Look at that—the ground beneath my feet cracked slightly.

'Core Formation… She really is talented. Both she and Sun Xinxin are heaven's chosen.' I thought, realizing that this woman's talent wasn't far off from Sun Xinxin's.

Judging from their cultivations, I knew Sun Xinxin was stronger.

But it didn't matter. Sooner or later, the two of them would have to clash.

"Ugh…! Why are you so heavy?! What the hell is with your body?!"

For a split second, I finally saw the woman release my shoulder.

Even though she hadn't pushed me for very long, she felt the backlash from the effort.

If she had to describe it, it felt like pushing against a celestial stone.

"So? Are you giving up? Let go of your hatred for the Sun girl. You and her aren't that different in terms of talent."

"Why… Why can't I move you?!"

"Because you're weak? I don't know. Maybe you think I'm arrogant, but don't get the wrong idea. I'm not interested in either of you."

Without realizing it, I saw the woman beside me brushing off the hem of her skirt.

And finally, she decided to introduce herself.

"My name is Wang Ying. I'm a movie actress. I also have over a million followers."

"Han Li. That's my name. Also, please don't stand too close to me. I don't like it when people invade my space."
