Shantel turned slightly, addressing Zephyr without looking away from Wythe. "Remind me. Who's Fletcher Holdings' largest silent investor?"
"Barrowcroft Consortium, ma'am," Zephyr answered smoothly. "Heavily tied to municipal contracts and clean energy subsidies."
Wythe's spine stiffened. He knew where this was heading, but he clung to a thin thread of composure. Don't flinch, he told himself. She's bluffing… yes, she has to be bluffing.
"And where did we redirect the Green Hill solar initiative last month?" Shantel continued in a silky voice that seemed to be wrapped in steel.
Zephyr answered promptly, "To Barrowcroft's competitor, Helios Nova."
Damn it. Wythe felt the first crack ripple through his polished exterior and quickly masked it with a slight tightening of his jaw, but inside, alarm bells were shrieking.
