Jason patiently studies. 8 hours fly by in the library before he has to make his way home. He reads through the communication books and employs memorization techniques to concretely learn the two books. He confidently returns them just a day after checking them out.
Speed reading makes everything go by smoothly and with his increased memorization he can feel the knowledge sinking in. After 3 books on communication he finally has a skill at level 0. Jason doesn't want to think about how small of a percentage of an exp he has but he doesn't mind. At least it's another skill. It shows his hard work means something.
'Tonight the system will finally be Level 2. Whatever it brings,it will definitely be excellent with how each one of these skills drastically changes with a single level.'
Jason tries to calm himself down throughout his readings but by the time he is at home all he does is count down the clock.
Then Kyle and Ana enter.
"Jason! Got here early again. You are speeding out of class now" Kyle shouts as he guided Ana inside.
"And reading a lot too." Ana chimes in as she drops her back pack and unlatches her crutches onto the couch.
"Just studying is all." Jason responds to the hidden questions.
"Alright alright, just tell us if it's a girl we will celebrate." Kyle laughs as he teases Jason. Jason quickly thinks about Vivian and Carol. Women are the least of his concern right now besides Her. Thomas couldn't let him go without remembering her return. Jason can only think of all he needs to do to make sure he is ready.
"Nothing like that. Just big tests." Jason responds.
Ana scoots next to Jason on the couch and whispers in his ears, "Guess what? I got Kyle to promise to make an actually good dinner."
Ana shoots a proud smile.
"No way." Jason pats Ana on the head and congratulates her on the impossible victory.
