As expected, Ye Wen thought to himself.

The mastermind behind the great beast tide was indeed Di Tian.

A top-tier expert with golden eyes was just too distinctive to mistake.

"Indeed, it's him," Ye Wen sighed.

But if that was the case, this beast tide wouldn't be so easily resolved.

If Da Ming were to return empty-handed, there was no telling what Di Tian might do.

After some contemplation, Ye Wen said, "For now, follow me back to the Great Star Dou Forest. You won't be able to handle the next steps on your own.

As for these little ones, call them back as well. If the human armies launch a counterattack, there will be heavy casualties."

Da Ming obeyed and began cleaning up the aftermath.

Sword Elder and the others exchanged glances, speechless. After two days of intense fighting, the situation had ended in such an anticlimactic manner.

At this moment, Ye Wen turned his gaze to Sword Elder and the others. "Now that this matter is settled, you may return as well.

Also, when you get back, make sure to spread the word that Pope Bibi Dong defeated the Azure Bull Python. Do not reveal my involvement."

"Yes!" ×3

Sword Elder and the others, having already conspired with Ye Wen in the past, were well aware of his ambitions and naturally didn't object.

Although this would slightly tarnish the reputations of the Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda Sect and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, compared to the future benefits, it was a negligible loss.

Thus, the massive beast tide that had swept across half of the Douluo Continent came to an end.

Though the two empires suffered significant damage, fortunately, there were few ordinary civilian areas near the Great Star Dou Forest.

Some individuals profited handsomely from this event, especially the Spirit Hall. Thanks to Pope Bibi Dong's supposed defeat of the Azure Bull Python, the Spirit Hall basked in unprecedented glory.

Meanwhile, the two empires, overly concerned with appearances, organized large-scale armies to suppress the aftermath, intending to weaken the Spirit Hall's influence. Unexpectedly, they ended up stabbing themselves in the back.

On the Tian Dou side, the Tian Dou Empire, blindly believing that the three upper sects were their allies, assumed this was simply the arrogance of Title Douluos unwilling to claim others' achievements. They could only suppress their grievances.

Later, upon receiving the news, Bibi Dong revealed a gentle yet enchanting smile.

After resolving the great beast tide incident, Ye Wen didn't rush back to Tianxing Academy. Instead, he followed Da Ming to the Lake of Life.

Looking at the lake brimming with life energy, Ye Wen remarked, "No wonder it's called the source of life on Douluo Planet."

Speaking of which, the Silver Dragon King hiding here to recover her injuries was truly careless. While the life force here could help heal her wounds, it was also the most conspicuous location on Douluo Planet. If the God Kings were to investigate, they wouldn't overlook this place.

At this moment, Da Ming asked, "Master, what should we do next?"

Since they couldn't directly pressure the Silver Dragon King and her group into revealing themselves, Ye Wen instructed,

"Go to the depths of the Lake of Life. He will sense your presence. When that happens, tell him I sent you to invite him. He won't make things difficult for you. Go."

Da Ming hesitated for a moment, finding this plan somewhat unreliable, but he still carried it out.

After a while, a stern-faced man in black robes with golden eyes appeared before Ye Wen, eyeing him warily.

Ye Wen paid it no mind. Di Tian, who couldn't even defeat Xue Yi, was far too weak now.

"Greetings. Technically speaking, this is our first meeting, Lord Di Tian.

I am the new Sea God, Ye Wen. Pleased to meet you."

Ye Wen's tone irritated Di Tian, but for the sake of the dragon race's greater plans, Di Tian chose to endure it.

Still, Di Tian's voice remained cold as he asked, "Sea God, what brings you here?"

Seeing Di Tian's attitude, Ye Wen didn't bother with pleasantries and replied bluntly,

"I'm here because of you."

"?" Di Tian frowned, his tone firm. "What do you mean? I don't recall offending you. Even if you're the Sea God, you can't act unreasonably in front of me."

Ye Wen chuckled in amusement. In the original storyline, Di Tian had seemed foolish, and reality certainly hadn't disappointed.

"Act unreasonably? Have you forgotten what you've done, Di Tian!"

Di Tian's brow furrowed slightly. At this moment, Ye Wen unleashed his overwhelming aura. Though Di Tian had fallen from godhood, he still felt uncomfortable under this pressure.

In Di Tian's worldview, he hadn't done anything to offend the Sea God.

But circumstances dictated his actions. Eventually, Di Tian lowered his head and asked quietly,

"I truly don't know what I've done to offend you. You can speak freely. If I've caused you any harm, I'll compensate you."

Upon hearing this, Ye Wen's expression softened slightly, and he calmly asked,

"Did you order the Azure Bull Python to instigate the beast tide?"

"Yes."

"Why? What could possibly justify an existence like yours inciting a slaughter of ordinary life through a beast tide?"

Seeing Di Tian admit without hesitation, Ye Wen found it both strange and intriguing.

In Douluo II, Di Tian had erupted after the death of the Imperial Auspicious Beast, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. But in this era, the auspicious beast hadn't even been born yet.

Di Tian fell silent for a moment. This matter was tied to his plans to ascend to godhood once more.

Ye Wen wasn't in a rush. With a detached gaze, he stared at Di Tian. Today, this stubborn fool had better give him a proper explanation for dragging him all the way out here.

Di Tian's heart was torn with indecision. But after considering the safety of his master, the Silver Dragon King, he ultimately relented and revealed his plan.

"I want to ascend to godhood through faith. I planned to rely on the faith of spirit beasts to form a divine position. However, not long ago, a human Title Douluo slaughtered countless ten-thousand-year spirit beasts right in front of me. Though I crippled one of his legs, he managed to escape.

Afterward, I became deeply disgusted by humanity's unrestrained slaughter of spirit beasts, so I had this little one initiate the beast tide on my behalf."

After hearing this, Ye Wen felt utterly speechless.

He looked at Di Tian as if staring at an idiot.

Di Tian, who had always held a position of authority, had never encountered such a look before. Feeling uneasy, he asked,

"What?"

"Didn't Xue Di already tell you last time? On Douluo Planet, spirit beasts are forbidden from ascending to godhood. What were you thinking?" Ye Wen asked incredulously.

As a former God King, Di Tian had his pride.

"Don't forget, I was once a God King myself. Sea God, those so-called gods in the divine realm are merely manipulating rules. As long as I find the right method, I can ascend once more."

Emmm…

This left Ye Wen momentarily silent. You're already in such a sorry state—where does this arrogance come from?

Should I tell him that the rule forbidding spirit beasts from ascending to godhood was established by the strongest Dragon God?
