Chapter 60 : Asmodra Awakens
The battlefield was tense. Madagascar stood with his thoughts racing—he knew he could take down Roshi if he went all out, but doing so would put Tito and Sakamoto at risk. He clenched his fists. This isn't the right moment to unleash everything…
Tito, already shrouded in his Black Lightning Armor, turned to Sakamoto.
"We should launch a synchronized attack," he said, his voice sharp and calculated.
Sakamoto adjusted his grip on his axe and gave a nod.
"Let's end this quickly."
Roshi smirked, watching them from a distance.
"Come on then," he taunted. "Entertain me while I'm still feeling patient."
In an instant, they vanished. Sakamoto appeared on the left, Tito on the right, and Madagascar soared above. Their attacks came all at once—Tito fired a concentrated bolt of Black Lightning, Sakamoto swung his axe with full force, and Madagascar expelled a freezing mist, attempting to encase Roshi in ice.
BOOM!
A sudden explosion sent them all flying backward. Small, bat-like dolls had launched from Roshi's body at the last second, detonating mid-air. The shockwave threw them across the battlefield.
Sakamoto growled, slamming his axe into the ground as he tried to steady himself.
"Damn it… we can't even get close to him!"
Tito analyzed the situation. He realized that Roshi's fighting style made close combat almost impossible—Sakamoto needed an opening, and he and Madagascar had to create it.
"Sakamoto, hold back," Tito commanded. "Madagascar and I will force him into position. When the time is right, you go for the kill."
Roshi laughed, watching them strategize.
"Oh, by all means, take your time!"
Tito didn't waste another second. He raised his hands and released Black Lightning Needles, sending a storm of electrified projectiles toward Roshi. Roshi's Shen-enhanced vision caught the attack, and he reacted immediately.
"Summoning technique: Panda Guardian."
A massive doll-like panda appeared in front of him, shielding him from the incoming attack.
At the same time, Madagascar unleashed his technique—"Ice Release:Frozen Coffin"—a devastating ice technique that trapped Roshi's lower half within a thick block of freezing mist and then extended to cover his entire being locking him inside an iced ball prison . Crystalline ice rapidly climbed up Roshi's legs, locking him in place.
"Now!" Tito shouted.
Sakamoto blurred out of sight, appearing right in front of the ice prison. Madagascar quickly opened a hole in the ice, just enough for Sakamoto to slide in and land the finishing blow.
"It's over."
Sakamoto raised his axe overhead, preparing to split Roshi in two—
But Roshi smiled.
"Kai."
BOOM!
The Panda Guardian doll was a hidden explosive. It detonated inside the ice prison, engulfing the battlefield in an earsplitting explosion.
Tito and Madagascar screamed as the blast sent shockwaves through the air.
"SAKAMOTO!!!!"
Meanwhile: Mujin's Emergency
Mujin sat in deep concentration, his wounds finally sealed. His recovery technique had worked, but Bartoni remained on the verge of death.
Soji, watching over them, asked urgently, "How come you healed so quickly, but Bartoni can't?"
Mujin sighed, rubbing his temples.
"Huey's attack erases existence itself. I can store my injuries in a pocket dimension to let them heal, but Bartoni's wounds are beyond repair. Even in my dimension, there are limits."
Soji's face darkened. "Then… does that mean Bartoni is…?"
Mujin didn't answer. Instead, he closed his eyes and focused his senses outward. His mind raced—he had to act now.
Suddenly, he vanished, appearing on a rooftop next to Thomas, who was leaping across buildings.
"Mujin?" Thomas paused mid-step, looking at him with concern.
"Bartoni is dying," Mujin stated bluntly.
Thomas clenched his fists, his face twisted in frustration. Before he could respond, a massive explosion rocked the city.
BOOOOOOOM!
Mujin's eyes shot toward the source. Sakamoto's team…
He immediately placed his hand on his coat, activating his Jumper Technique—but it failed.
The seal Mujin gave Sakamoto had been burned in the explosion.
"Damn it!" he cursed. He turned to Thomas.
"I'm heading to them—stay sharp."
In an instant, Mujin disappeared.
Huey's Arrival: The Beginning of Destruction
A sinister energy loomed over Seoul.
In the center of the city, Huey's figure materialized. He knelt down, pressing his hands against the cold pavement. His lips curled into a chilling smile.
"Summoning Technique: Asmodra, the Thousand-Limbed Harbinger."
The ground cracked open. A deafening, otherworldly screech filled the air as something colossal began to emerge.
A monstrous humanoid entity rose from the depths. Its elongated body twisted unnaturally, with dozens of grotesque arms writhing in every direction. Clawed fingers twitched, reaching outward as if searching for something to devour.
Its face was horrifying—a mask-like visage with two massive, hollow black eyes that seemed to absorb light itself.
Seoul's citizens screamed in terror. Buildings trembled. Electricity flickered, plunging entire districts into darkness.
Huey stood before the monstrous being, his eyes gleaming.
"So this is what it feels like?" he muttered.
He let out a satisfied sigh, remembering Lord Arcade's words:
"One who harnesses the power of the coffin shall summon Asmodra. Its power will reshape the world."
Huey grinned.
"Go, Asmodra. Destroy everything."
