Vincent gave a slight smile. "And the husband?"
She leaned back, crossing her legs. "Start with him."
Vincent tapped his cigar. "Then I'll need everything you have on Jerry. Every name. Every deal. Every shadow he's ever walked in."
Cassandra slid a folder across the table.
"Then it begins," he said.
Back at Wright Tower – That Same Evening
Jerry stared out the window, knowing the silence was temporary. Abigail stood beside him, shoulders tight.
"This is just the beginning, isn't it?" she asked.
He nodded once.
"They won't stop," she said.
He looked at her, jaw tight. "Then neither will we."
Abigail woke up to the soft morning light streaming through the curtains of her penthouse. The last few days had been a battlefield, but for once, the world outside her window looked... calm.
