Eryx closed the car door after Lunara got in, the soft thud of the door cutting through the stillness of the cemetery. He turned and locked eyes with Callum, who stood near the vehicle with a solemn expression. The weight of Mila's death lingered in the air, heavy and unspoken.
"Check where Amara was a few days before Mila's death. Look into any connections she might have had with the woman who kidnapped Mila," Eryx ordered, his voice unwavering but tinged with the sharp edge of frustration.
Callum furrowed his brows, a flicker of doubt crossing his face. "Sir, do you think she was the person behind this?"
Eryx shook his head, his jaw tightening as he stared off into the distance. "I don't think so. But check anyway, just in case I misjudged. We can't afford any mistakes."
Callum hesitated for a moment, processing the weight of Eryx's words, then nodded. "Understood, sir. I'll get on it."
