Lynch watched the old Mage. Although the darkness would not obstruct his vision, Lynch could never see into a person's heart. Indeed, while the young Mage could observe one's heart rate changes through X-ray vision to infer their emotional fluctuations, the heart of this Dark Elf before him remained stable and strong.
Perhaps the words he spoke were merely a retelling of facts. Regardless of what they might ultimately become, it bore no impact on him, and such a transcendent feeling naturally stirred no change in emotion.
