Chapter 3 - The Wanderers of Mostar

The police of Bosnia and Herzegovina are very concerned about their only port, so when they receive the report and solid evidence, they immediately launch the operation against Harun.

It was unclear how to punish Suker, but the coach took him out of the police station at that moment.

Olipe is a big and overweight man, weighing over 100 kilograms, with a height of 175 cm, and his swollen figure gives people a sense of unease.

He was wearing a blue tracksuit, and although it was a loose model, there was a sense of tightness around Olipe.

He always wears a whistle around his neck, as if to identify himself as the head coach.

Olipe is also the coach of the Rangers of Bosnia-Herzegovina, a team in the second division of Bosnia and Herzegovina where Suker plays.

Olipe took Suker to the corner of the street like a chick and then said angrily: "You promised me!"

Suker lowered his head, like a child who has done something wrong, and said nothing.

Seeing this, Olipe became even angrier.

"Speak! Do you think I will still believe you?" Olipe said angrily. "The police have already issued a warning. If something like this happens again, they'll send you back to Croatia. If you still want to play here, then be honest."

Suker quickly looked up and nodded like a chicken pecking at rice.

Seeing Suker's childish face, Olipe's anger also quickly dissipated.

In fact, looking at this teenager living in a foreign country and chasing his football dream, Olipe still feels very sorry for him.

With that, Olipe pulled Suker into a single-box truck, circled around to sit in the driver's seat, and started the car.

Olipe started the car and said concisely, "It's match day."

Suker looked up in surprise: "There's no game today!"

Olipe underestimated him: "The schedule has changed."

Suker just nodded. In fact, in the second division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, changing the schedule is very common because the financial state of the entire second division team is very poor, and the salary that can be given to the players is not high. To subsidize their living expenses, many players opt to work.

This is the case with Suker; after all, it's very difficult to play and make ends meet at the same time.

For most players, the reason they continue playing is simple: to leave the second division, rise to the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, or move to a Super League team.

This is the only way out for those who still persist.

Of course, there are also people like Covic, who think they can't live on football and eventually give up, starting to beg to make a living.

While players in the top European leagues earn a lot of money and have beautiful girls, these lower league players are still struggling with life.

It can be said that football here presents two extremes.

Only a handful of people who have reached the top through a single plank bridge can truly experience the joy of professional football.

As the single-box truck sped down the paved road, Olipe took a piece of paper from his pocket and threw it at the steering wheel.

"The tutor's request has been approved, and Sarkovic will no longer look for you in the future."

Upon hearing this, Suker had a surprised look on his face.

"Approved?"

Olipe looked at Suker's happy appearance and couldn't help but smile, saying, "Yes, approved. Then, your boy will score a few more goals under my guidance and will be transferred to a Super League team in the future."

Suker unfolded the piece of paper and looked at the content inside, then smiled with satisfaction: "We'll be promoted to the Super League together!"

Olipe smiled and said nothing.

"But do you really not want to go back to Croatia?"

Suker shrugged. "I don't want to be a priest again."

Olipe nodded, more or less understanding.

This series of events relates to Suker's background.

Suker had been a child in an orphanage in a church in Croatia and was valued by the church's faithful, including Sarkovic, during a football exhibition match held within the church.

Sarkovic, a youth coach in Bosnia and Herzegovina, saw Suker's talent and wanted to develop it.

After being persuaded to do so, he became Suker's mentor in Bosnia and Herzegovina and took him there for youth training.

In fact, the whole process went very well, and Suker performed admirably.

The only problem was his body!

At the age of 14, Suker seemed to have stopped growing, and his height could not increase.

At the age of 15, when all his peers had already surpassed the 170 cm mark, with some even reaching 180 cm, Suker still maintained a small figure of 150 cm.

And this figure brought him great problems as a center forward.

The two sides were completely polarized in the confrontation; although Suker was very agile, in youth training, if your height didn't measure up, you were basically labeled as unqualified.

And Suker's talent had not reached the point where Sarkovic thought height could be ignored.

In the end, Suker was removed from the academy roster by Sarkovic and was ready to return to Croatia.

However, the stubborn Suker ultimately decided to run away and join the Mostar Rangers team.

After a period of trial, Suker performed very well here and finally chose the excessive custody after Sarkovic approached Olipe.

Anyway, for Sarkovic, it was just a matter of getting rid of this problem.

The two got along well, and the whole process went smoothly.

Suker hadn't met Oriche's expectations, scoring nine goals for the team last season and leading the scoring list with eight goals in 11 matches this season.

It's hard to imagine that this teenager, who is only 150 cm tall, could have such a wonderful performance in the fierce physical competition of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The truck veered off the paved road and entered a mountainous area.

In the bumpy road conditions, the single-box truck moved through the narrow dirt path and kept going.

After a while, the surrounding grass faded, and a simple arch appeared.

Two thin bamboo poles held a banner with the words "Welcome to Mostar Wanderers" written in Croatian.

Yes, the Mostar Rangers was a team that represented Croats.

After passing through the simple arch, a courtyard surrounded by a waist-high fence was revealed.

But compared to a stadium, it should be called a ranch.

The grass was terrible, and even the brown soil felt sticky, with the nets on both sides even more ragged, with holes tied together in knots, making the whole net look very rough.

Not far away, herds of cattle were grazing with their heads down, and the mixed smell of grass and cows flowed from their noses.

It can be said that the environment is uncomfortable for many of the rival teams who come to play here, but for the Mostar Rangers, it's the perfect home field.

Compared to the opponents who are unfamiliar with the field, they know everything about the field all the time, even where there are holes, where the grass is bad, and where the ball slows down when passed.

When Olipe and Suker arrived at the stadium, there were already many people around.

The market for the entire Pro League of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not very good, and even some Super League matches in Bosnia and Herzegovina have fewer than 1,000 spectators, but in this match, Mostar Rangers had nearly 150 fans, with the number of residents watching the excitement reaching over 200.

It's true that the Mostar Rangers are a second-division team, but their market is definitely the hottest in the entire second division.

The specific reason, Suker didn't know, but there were a lot of fans at every game.

At 30 marks per game, the tickets are very cheap, and people can even come from other places to watch the game and complete the purpose of evading tickets.

But the fans gathered here were very independent and directly gave the ticket money to Olipe.

Olipe was busy collecting money, and behind him was a group of players from Mostar Rangers, including Suker.

Suker sat on the ground and put on a red and black striped shirt.

To be honest, Suker didn't like the shirt because the stripes were horizontal and gave off a prison uniform vibe.

But as the home jersey, they couldn't refuse.

After putting on the shirt, Suker took the boots from the van.

They were tattered shoes with leather on the toes and even some holes, but they were barely used.

Finally, he tucked the shin guards into his socks and gently patted them.

In the Bosnia-Herzegovina league, shin guards are a must, and even if Grealish comes, he has to bring standard shin guards; otherwise, his sexy calves would be discarded.

After getting dressed, Suker began to greet others.

"Coach, pass me more today!"

Suker greeted a man wearing the number 10 shirt, the oldest one, around 30 years old.

His name is Iván Mlinar, the team captain, who is 35 years old.

Mlinar is the most famous carpenter in the entire city of Mostar, and his work is as excellent as his meticulous craftsmanship.

Mlinar is the playmaker for the Mostar Rangers and the big man who feeds Suker.

It could be said that the main offensive line of Mostar Rangers is the connection between Suker and Mlinar.

Mlinar twisted his waist and smiled.

He is also very fond of this young teammate who can always score goals.

After all, who likes to lose?

After greeting the captain, Suker turned his head and shouted somewhere else: "Bakec, concede two fewer goals today, don't make it harder for me."

Bakec, the goalkeeper of Mostar Rangers, is a huge sieve.

Every time the ball goes down!

In Oriche's words, the opponent only needs to shoot, and Barkic can put the ball in his own net.

After Suker finished shouting, a young bald man stood up, shouted, and lunged at Suker. Suker skillfully dodged him, and after some spins, successfully shook off the bald goalkeeper named Bakec.

At this moment, everyone burst into laughter.

While the Mostar Rangers players were chatting, on the other side of the field, Sarajevo FC, the rival of the match, was also watching them.

Sarajevo FC, the name sounds dominant, but it's a rookie club.

After all, second division teams are almost the same, and their situation is similar to that of Mostar Rangers, but after all, they are teams from the capital and are treated better.

After both teams finished their final preparations, they finally set the game tactics amid the shouts of the surrounding fans.
