Mabel Quinn's face changed, and she quickly picked up her phone, biting her lip and letting out a "Hello."
"You're not still at that restaurant?" Kyle Kinston's voice came through the phone, leaving Mabel even more at a loss.
Kyle was actually listening on the other end of the phone, so he must have heard the earlier disturbance.
"Um, my classmate and I left, and we're planning to find another place," Mabel replied somewhat hesitantly.
"After you've finished eating, I'll send someone to pick you up," Kyle said.
"No need, I'll just take the bus myself," she hurriedly replied.
After a moment of consideration, he said, "Mabel Quinn, this time you didn't hang up on me, very good."
Even after the call ended and the phone gave the "beep beep" tone, Mabel was still in a slight daze, unable to collect herself.
