Chapter 1 - Fuyuki (part 1)

"GACHA! QUICK, QUICK, QUICK!!!"

"Please calm down, Senpai!!"

In a city that looks no different from a living hell, three girls stand amidst the chaos.

The white-haired girl is crying while clinging to a pole, surrounded by undead staring at her. Meanwhile, the red-haired girl is desperately urging the pink-haired girl (I guess?) to do something.

Oh, they're trying to gacha!

"AGHHHH!!! JUST HURRY UP ALREADY!!!" Olga clings tightly, crying even louder.

Mash grits her teeth, finally finishing the preparations. She turns to the red-haired girl.

"Alright! Throw in the Saint Quartz, Senpai!!"

"Yoshaaaa!!"

Even though she only has one quartz, it's more than enough.

At worst, she'll just get Craft Essences, but if it's a 5-star, that would be amazing. And if it's a Servant, she hopes—no, prays—it's Baeber—er, she means Saber!

She tosses the Saint Quartz into Mash's shield like she's throwing away trash.

And surprise, surprise! Lightning crackles around the shield.

"LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!" Her eyes light up, and she even starts drooling.

Excitement, anticipation, madness, total loss of control—she's feeling everything all at once.

Then, from the lightning, a card emerges, floating into the air.

"Baeber?! Baeber!?!?"

Judging by the card's image… it's not a Saber. Instead, it shows a masked figure wielding two daggers.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" She collapses in despair, as if she just witnessed the most horrifying thing in her life.

Mash watches Senpai writhing in agony on the ground while the undead simply stare at her, doing absolutely nothing.

"Senpai, don't be so upset. Even if it's not a Saber, it's still a gold card!"

Hearing this, she begrudgingly lifts her head. Well, yeah, it is a gold card, but…

"But it's an Assassin! This Servant's stats are weaker than other classes!! I don't wa—Ugah!"

Mid-sentence, someone throws a bone at her head.

"Are you stupid?! Every Servant, regardless of class, has their strengths! What's wrong with an Assassin?! They can still take down Riders!!" Olga yells, pointing accusingly at the red-haired girl.

Meanwhile, the undead curiously inspect the card, wondering what kind of Servant it is.

"Y-you're right! I shouldn't be so selfish! I need to believe in the Servant I summoned!"

The card flips over, revealing a man wearing a purple kimono and a black Haori cloak. His golden eyes gleam beneath his uniquely long hair, which is tied at the end.

"Huh?"

The card fades, and a smooth yet playful voice rings out.

"Nurarihyon, just a simple Youkai who enjoys drinking and sneaking into people's houses. Pleased to meet you."

…Ohhhh. Handsome.

Wait, hold on—Youkai?!

Nurarihyon surveys his surroundings, noticing the countless undead surrounding them. He merely smirks before turning to the girl.

"Hoh? Seems like you summoned me at a pretty terrible time."

She remains stunned until Mash shakes her violently.

"Huh?! Ah, right! Hurry up and wipe out these undead for me, Nira—Nula—goddammit. JUST KILL THEM ALL!"

"Haha, what a lively Master I've got."

With that, he steps forward, unsheathing a katana as he faces the undead.

Seeing this, the undead charge at him, attacking wildly.

Witnessing their sheer ferocity, Nurarihyon simply sidesteps, slicing through them effortlessly.

In mere seconds, he disposes of every enemy with swift, precise movements—perhaps because he's an Assassin.

Olga exhales in relief, sliding down the pole, then glances at their newly summoned Servant.

'Nurarihyon? I remember he's supposed to be an old Youkai with an elongated head… Why the hell is he this ridiculously handsome?!'

Nurarihyon scans his surroundings—mostly fire, making it feel like a true hellscape.

Mash shakes the red-haired girl once again, snapping her out of her trance from staring at Nurarihyon too long.

"Senpai! Hurry up and introduce yourself to your new Servant!"

"Ah, right!"

She rushes up to him and eagerly introduces herself.

"Hello! I'm Ritsuka Fujimaru, but most people call me Gudako! Looking forward to working with you!"

"Then let me introduce myself again. Nurarihyon, a Youkai who sneaks into people's homes. From now on, I shall protect you."

Judging by Gudako's lovestruck expression, it seems she's already replaced her favorite Servant with him.

"Alright, enough chit-chat! We can't stay here any longer! We must find the cause of all this!" Olga snaps.

"Oh, come on, Olga. Can't you see I'm talking to a handsome guy here? A little extra time won't hurt anyone~"

"Do you want to die?" Olga clenches her fists, teeth grinding.

Why, out of everyone, was she the only one to survive?! She was asleep every time I tried to teach her anything!

Mash, worried that Olga might actually punch Senpai, quickly intervenes.

Nurarihyon, seeing Gudako so entranced by him, recalls a certain Yuki Onna. He chuckles, then gently pushes her away.

"Young girl, where do we head next?"

"We will—"

A beeping sound suddenly echoed, making everyone flinch and turn toward Mash's shield.

"This is Chaldea. Can anyone hear me? Ah, the connection is back! Great, I can finally talk to you two again. I can even send you supplies now."

That voice… sounds familiar…

"Romani! Why are you the one in charge?! Where's Leff?! Get Leff on the line, now!"

"C-Commander?! You're alive?!"

"You bastard, you were hoping I was dead, weren't you?!"

"N-No, not at all!"

"Then where the hell is Leff?! Why is the head of medical staff the one running operations?!"

"Wow, she's really abusing her authority to yell at someone who's literally trying to help us. So cruel," Gudako whispered to Nura and Mash, badmouthing Olga behind her back.

"She acts like a spoiled little princess. I doubt she's very well-liked," Nura murmured in agreement, while Mash awkwardly fidgeted, unsure of what to say.

"You bastards! Just because you have the only Servant doesn't mean you can slander me like this!!" Olga raged, smacking Gudako before turning back to Romani.

"Leff is presumed dead. 47 Master candidates are in critical condition. Chaldea has lost 80% of its operational capacity… What the hell is happening today…"

Olga could hardly believe it.

One moment, everything was fine, and the next, Chaldea exploded. Now, she was stuck in Singularity Fuyuki with the last Master she'd ever trust.

It was as if some deranged lunatic was toying with her…

'If only Leff were here…'

She then turned to Gudako, who was now clinging to her newly summoned Servant like glue. Olga felt utterly powerless.

At least the enemies here were weak. Even Mash could handle them with ease.

"We must investigate the cause of Singularity F as soon as possible! Do you agree?" Olga asked.

"Huh? Sorry, what were you saying just now?"

…No hope. There was absolutely no hope.

"LEFF, PLEASE HELP MEEEEEE!!!!!" Olga wailed in despair.
