Chapter 15 - small shelter

The Next Day

Kai and Vix ventured into the jungle to search for limestone, which they needed to make cement. Carrying a large bowl tied with tree root ropes, they made their way toward a cave area.

Limestone areas are often unique, and it didn't take long for them to find a cave at the base of a hill, filled with minerals and limestone deposits.

Without wasting time, they entered the cave, but the darkness made it difficult to explore further.

Instead, they decided to collect limestone from the outer areas and the edges of the hill.

"We just need enough to start building a shelter," Kai said, filling the bowl with limestone chunks.

They gathered three bowls of limestone, enough for their initial needs, and headed back to camp.

As they walked, Vix glanced at Kai. "This should be enough to get us started. Once we have the shelter, we can focus on other things."

Kai nodded.

"Yeah, step by step."

The two men returned to camp,

Upon returning to the base, Rose and the twins had already prepared the materials needed to make cement: clay, sand, and water.

They were ready to start their first shelter project.

Kai instructed Kat to use her soil power to clear the area of plants and rocks.

Kat nodded and, as she had been taught, lifted the top layer of soil. The soil floated into the air, shifting to the side and shaking off any grass or rocks stuck to it.

With a wave of her hand, the soil returned to its original place, now clean and free of debris.

Automatically, the soil settled back down, leaving the area perfectly cleared for construction.

The group watched in awe as Kat's power made the task quick and efficient.

"Great job, Kat!"

Rose cheered, clapping her hands.

Kai smiled, feeling proud of their teamwork.

With the area cleared, they began mixing the limestone, clay, sand, and water to create cement.

Kat dug a trench 30-50 cm deep to create the foundation.

They then filled the trench with a mixture of cement, sand, and stones to create a strong base.

This time, Vix was instructed to use his fire power to speed up the drying process.

Now that he understood the formula, he easily controlled his flames, using just enough heat to accelerate the drying without damaging the foundation.

With the foundation set, it was time for Kit to lift the bricks and cement to build the walls.

Meanwhile, Kai prepared a fresh batch of cement, mixing 1 part cement, 2 parts sand, and enough water to create the right consistency.

Once the cement was ready, they began laying the bricks layer by layer, using the cement as adhesive between each brick.

Kit used her wind power to control the airflow, lifting the bricks and bringing them closer to the construction site. This eliminated the need for back-and-forth trips—they simply took the bricks from the air and placed them in position.

The group worked seamlessly together, their combined powers making the construction process efficient and smooth.

As the walls began to rise, they felt a sense of accomplishment.

The shelter was taking shape, a testament to their teamwork and determination.

The walls were sturdy, and the foundation was solid.

The next step was the floor. They covered it with the remaining sand and sealed it with the leftover cement mixture.

Now, all that was left was the roof.

"It looks like my time has come," Kai said, walking toward a nearby tree.

He stood in front of the tree, clenched his fists, and positioned his feet and hands behind him, ready to strike.

Something words came out of his mouth:

"Hissatsu Majishirīzu, Maji Naguri!"

He released a powerful punch, completely destroying the tree.

Rose and Vix shook their heads in disbelief.

Kit, confused, asked, "Why did he destroy the tree? Shouldn't he just cut it down properly?"

Rose, annoyed with her brother, shouted,

"You're not Saitama, you idiot! Do it properly, you f***er!"

Kai scratched his head, laughing awkwardly.

"Sorry, got a bit carried away. I'll do it the right way next time."

Kai, realizing his earlier mistake, decided to take a more careful approach this time.

He delivered a controlled punch to the tree, causing it to fall gently without shattering into pieces.

Then, he cut the trunk into several sections to create a temporary roof for their shelter.

The group watched as Kai worked efficiently, his strength and precision making the task quick and easy.

Rose, still a bit annoyed, couldn't help but smile. "See? That's how you do it properly."

Kai grinned. "Yeah, yeah. I got it now."

With the wood ready, they began constructing the roof, layering the pieces carefully to ensure it was sturdy and waterproof.

Now, all they needed to do was clean up the dirt and dust.

Everyone pitched in, and finally, their first shelter and home were complete.

"Hahahahaha! What a genius I am!" Kai exclaimed, overproud of himself.

Rose, seeing her brother's unchanged behavior, shook her head. She got an idea and called Kit over, whispering something to her.

Suddenly, Kit opened one hand, and Rose instructed her to repeat the words she said:

Honto ni nano ishikki uta osto

yakai najikuka ninjutsu wakoujita

Kyoshin ni norunai...

Kato shino

Rasengan!!"

Kit formed a swirling ball of wind in her hand, this time a bit cooler and more controlled.

Kai, seeing this, panicked.

"Stoppp!! Stopp!! I was joking!"

But Rose smirked and signaled Kit to attack.

Kit flew toward Kai and aimed the wind ball at his stomach, sending him flying backward.

Rose, satisfied with the result, gave Kit a high-five.

The group burst into laughter, their bond growing stronger with each playful moment.

Kai, who had been sent flying, felt like his sister had cheated by using the kids to attack him.

But at least it made everyone happy.

"Maybe I should rest first,"

Kai closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep, exhausted from the day's work.
