It's not only the monsters that made the hairs on Edmund's body stand straight. The giant trees, wood-like brown and without any intention of ever growing leaves could be seen hundreds of meters away, the stormy skies above them bringing chills down Edmund's spine.
'The Dead Forest!'
Based on the strength of the sun and its position, Edmund could tell it was approaching noon. However, no light could be seen in the forest. The very reason the Dead Forest made him shudder.
'What am I scared of? It's the only obstacle we have to overcome to reach the dungeon. We also have many. I have nothing to be scared of.'
Despite these thoughts, Edmund wondered how on earth would he have been able to reach the Dungeon of Desires if he had continued his journey alone back then.
'I would have died... or maybe gave up and returned to the castle.'
